This I can confirm. He's got a friend who is a crocodile. He lives in a house, walks on his hind feet and wears clothes. His day job is as an animal at the zoo, where, after clocking in, he takes off his clothes and lies down to be like a real animal for the kids to see at the zoo.

British Dictionary definitions for tovarisch
tovarisch
/təˈvɑːrɪʃ; Russian taˈvariʃtʃ/
So you better write "t(o/a)varishtch". Or keep with the bastardized English version.

Accurate or not "tovarishch" is the canonical transliteration.

Is Viagra the joke or does the sign say something funny in Russian?

↑ It says quite explicitly "avoid faltering erection, buy Viagra", but it's slang, "goniat' vialovo" ~ to chase/hurry the limp/wilted (one), meaning you have trouble concluding.

Perhaps there is a pun as Viagra and vialovo sound vaguely similar? I'll defer to Grammy who certainly knows these things (I mean Russian slang, of course) so much better.

Summer has come to Russia (they start a bit early, from an astronomical point of view):
