The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

This is the corner of W. 3rd St. and Sullivan St. in NYC. Googies was still there through the ‘80s when I lived down the street. It was a great little bar. It’s gone now.

The phrase “a huckleberry over my persimmon” was used to mean “a bit beyond my abilities”. “I'm your huckleberry” is a way of saying that one is just the right person for a given job. The range of slang meanings of huckleberry in the 19th century was fairly large, also referring to significant persons or nice persons.
Completely gone now. Funny, isn't it?

When was the last time you saw a literal physical huckleberry?

I just looked it up. I don't think I have ever seen one.

I have heard "huckleberry" used as a synonym for jadrool, but not recently.

Do the human natives ("huckleberries") gather and eat literal huckleberries, or do the trilobites run them off?

That's what happened to the trilobites! They were magnetic and they got sucked up in the Van Allen Belt! They're still floating around up there!

I often gorged on blueberries (roughly the same, right?) in the Alps, but there is always a (very) slight risk of catching echinococcosis there. :|
