Those stacked pie chart thingies look like pie charted leeches in various stage of having fed.

Well at least that's the thought provoked in me. :)

Because he used Adobe Portfolio to build his website. It's not hosted on his own server, so he can't set up his own email addresses, or so I assume.

Somehow he disabled right-clicking on his web pages...had to use the developer tools in FireFox to look at the source code.

This little snippet of text in the code, when searched, turns up Adobe Portfolio...and the "<meta name="twitter:site" content="@AdobePortfolio">" tag was a dead giveaway.

Insert copy here, which should vary depending on your region.

Good detective work.

There are services that provide domain name email addresses, so even if his web server does not include an email server, he can still use a third party email service using his domain name. For example, I have used zoho.com for such things. There are many others.

Disabling right clicking is not difficult. For example:

Code: Select all

document.addEventListener('contextmenu', event => event.preventDefault());

There are a million variations on that theme, including making your own context menus, etc.

If I was inspired, I could go look at his javascript and see exactly what he is doing.

In any case, disabling right clicking does not protect your website, it just annoys your users. I don't do it, nor do I recommend any of my clients do it.

The WaPo didn't clarify what these "1 in 288 chances", &c., are. But:
Each year, deer in the United States are involved in more than 1 million collisions that cause more than 200 human deaths. They also cost a lot of money, according to State Farm, the country’s top auto insurer, which says the average claim hovers around $4,000.

In Russia, deer hits you!
"It is not I who is mad! It is I who is crazy!" -- Ren Hoek

"[... it seems most strange that... ] the Creator of Heaven and Earth resorted to the womb of a certain Jewish lady, grew there for nine months and was born as an infant, and afterwards grew up and was betrayed into the hands of his enemies who sentenced him to death and executed him, and that afterwards... he came to life and returned to his original place. The mind of a Jew, or any other person, simply cannot tolerate these assertions. If you have listened all your life to the priests who have filled your brain and the marrow of your bones with this doctrine, and it has settled into you because of that accustomed habit. [I would argue that if you were hearing these ideas for the first time, now, as a grown adult], you would never have accepted them." -- Rabbi Moses ben Nahman, defending the Talmud at the Disputation of Barcelona, July 1263.

NASA: Assessments of Major Projects (Government Accountability Office)

In our 10th annual Quick Look at the status of NASA's major projects, we found that many of these projects experienced significant cost and schedule growth over the past year.

The average launch delay was 12 months—the most we've ever reported. However, the extent of cost growth for the portfolio of projects is unknown because NASA doesn't have a current cost estimate for the Orion crew vehicle, one of its most expensive projects.

NASA is likely to keep seeing cost and schedule growth in the future. Complex new projects are starting up, and other expensive projects are taking longer to launch than expected.

NASA’s Major Project Portfolio Cost and Schedule Performance Deteriorated in 2018

Cost growth for government stuff always seems to outstrip the rate of inflation by a long shot. Never even in the same ballpark.

Why is there no temperature for Kentucky? Are they too stupid there to know how to record temperature?
