There's a fourth sign, but I can't remember what it is.

The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

Meh, I hate that attitude. People are the same there are just more of them.

And they can more easily spread their shit, as noted in one of the comments. Humans are social creatures, but we're being overwhelmed.

Two different perspectives: the Chinese, where everything is grander in the past (some say it's also visible in their painting as objects don't get represented smaller with distance), or Greek ("Golden Age" and all that), and the Victorian: Progress!

For my part I convinced myself that people were exactly as smart then than now. Even if they reasoned from different backgrounds.

Thirty years ago, an idiot could only be heard as far as his voice could reach. Now he can be heard all over the world, and he reinforces other idiots in their false belief that they are smart.

The invention of the internet was the beginning of the end. Those who are reading this one hundred years from now know that I was right.

The mind of a Jew, or any other person, simply cannot tolerate these assertions. This is a simpler time.

If there's more money in letting them die, that's what they'll do.

Wow. Maybe I just wasn't cynical enough to think that some people really do think that way. I know that the alt-med pushers like to portray "big pharma" that way.
Richter cited Gilead Sciences' treatments for hepatitis C, which achieved cure rates of more than 90 percent. The company's U.S. sales for these hepatitis C treatments peaked at $12.5 billion in 2015, but have been falling ever since. Goldman estimates the U.S. sales for these treatments will be less than $4 billion this year, according to a table in the report.
"GILD is a case in point, where the success of its hepatitis C franchise has gradually exhausted the available pool of treatable patients," the analyst wrote. "In the case of infectious diseases such as hepatitis C, curing existing patients also decreases the number of carriers able to transmit the virus to new patients, thus the incident pool also declines … Where an incident pool remains stable (eg, in cancer) the potential for a cure poses less risk to the sustainability of a franchise."
Well, better make sure the cure doesn't work too well.
A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.

Planned obsolescence works just as well for pharmaceuticals as it does for automobiles.
