Bought a bottle of:

Really good. And some cute chick paid for it – who could complain?

Pedantic assholery alert.

Scottish whisky is spelled without an e.

Irish stuff is whiskey.
Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.

Actually, the Scottish is spelled with an "e": uisge beatha

Whereas in Ireland it is: uisce beatha.

↑ Nice, love how the levels go down. In French the loss due to evaporation from the cask is called "la part des anges", angels' share.

Some time ago I had a Douglas single malt, single cask, 10 years, from the Laphroaig distillery. Pleasant but without distinguishing characteristics. Not worth a picture.

What are the markings on the glass all about?

The 2 and 4 cl are of course capacity. As for the rest I'm not sure at all but it could be (as I vaguely seem to remember) some legal markings that said capacity is real.
If you're really interested I'll ask the bartender.

After an excellent amarone with pasta & truffles (following an octopus salad), some Octomore.

Nah, you just take fantastic pictures that intimidates those who try to follow.

I tried a couple recently.

Pendleton Whisky - A bit immature IMO

Johnny Walker Double Black - Not bad when on the rocks/with some brunch water

Was mentioned in the thread, if memory serves well.

Slightly wild restaurant panorama (Mercator projection):

Whisky only from shop window ( :( ), but I had some mirabelle spirit (dry, not liqueur) after a good burgundy, and later concluded the evening with a Kwak (which had a slight metallic aftertaste):

Wine tasting (a Morgon, which takes on a peculiar taste when aged [Froggies say "il morgonne" about that], but this one was just so-so), some stuffed morels, fish (no pic) with a bottle of Viré-Clessé white and a cheese platter to conclude.

Afterwards some Laphroaig (yum!).

And another panorama:
