The O.J. Simpson Parole Violation Pool

Postby Rob Lister » Sun Oct 01, 2017 11:25 am

O.J. Simpson became a free man at 12:08 a.m. Sunday when he was released from Lovelock Correctional Center in Northern Nevada.

Simpson was released from prison and out on parole after serving nine years for armed robbery, Nevada Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Keast confirmed Sunday morning.

She said he was released from Lovelock Correctional Center in Northern Nevada at 12:08 a.m. Sunday, just minutes after he was eligible for release. He had been expected to be taken to High Desert State Prison outside Las Vegas, but Keast said the high-profile nature of the case and public safety concerns prompted officials to release him directly from Lovelock.

In this pool, state the number of months before O.J. violates his parole or is arrested for any crime. Even a single hour in jail gives you the win. I will update this post with your selection. Losers must wear the avatar that the winner selects for one week.

Simpson was sentenced in Nevada to up to 33 years but was granted parole in July. Now that Simpson is released, he’ll be subject to supervision by the state Division of Parole and Probation through September 2022.

So that's 5 years, i.e. 60 months of parole, if anyone wants to bet that he can make it that long. I'll take 22 months.

So he's definitely out on parole?

Within 2 months.

So put me down for 2.

The gambling aspect would be even money he's back in the joint within one month, so I will lose if that happens.

Meh. I'm sure the newsertainment media's big question is whether or not he'd "take a knee" during the National Anthem.

Sure, why not, I'll give him 6 months.

"[... it seems most strange that... ] the Creator of Heaven and Earth resorted to the womb of a certain Jewish lady, grew there for nine months and was born as an infant, and afterwards grew up and was betrayed into the hands of his enemies who sentenced him to death and executed him, and that afterwards... he came to life and returned to his original place. The mind of a Jew, or any other person, simply cannot tolerate these assertions. If you have listened all your life to the priests who have filled your brain and the marrow of your bones with this doctrine, and it has settled into you because of that accustomed habit. [I would argue that if you were hearing these ideas for the first time, now, as a grown adult], you would never have accepted them." -- Rabbi Moses ben Nahman, defending the Talmud at the Disputation of Barcelona, July 1263.

OJ Simpson has been out of prison for more than a month, and he's not exactly being a model parolee, according to TMZ. Sources tell the website that Simpson was chucked out of the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas for being drunk and belligerent. According to TMZ's sources, Simpson " was angry at hotel staff and glasses broke at the bar," though he behaved himself when security arrived to escort him out. Simpson is now apparently permanently banned from the hotel, though his lawyer, Malcolm LaVergne, says it was nothing to do with his client's behavior. He claims the hotel decided to ban Simpson even before he arrived.

Abdul was very close to winning here. Had they called the cops instead of their own security, he'd have won.

It's still not to late for you guys to place your bets.

Because the hotel had their own security. If they'd have called the cops, Abdul would have won.

Oh well.

Can I bet again?

Pyrrho may have called it, but I give him one more month to violate parole.

I'm not in charge, but it would make sense to allow people to change their bet to any month that someone else hasn't already claimed. That will allow for a resolution even if everyone was initially wrong.

Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

Technically, if he was drinking then he has violated his parole, unless it only counts if he gets arrested?

Why do I care.

Nope. .1 or above. Until that he can drink all he wants. I'm betting he was above .1 too.
