That's a rare compliment.

Thanks! :)
Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.

I'd have answered: "Because beards itch like fuck, you little bastard. Now, get out of the bathroom, you nosy cunt; I haven't had my coffee yet."

You have a good eye, Anax! Some improvements in matter of 'stache and goatee remain to be applied…

The original is interesting too, as it shows AC happy and relaxed, and even elegant. :)

Perhaps he also had taken a bath?

Those strained smiles. I've seen those kinds of smiles before. You can see the years of misery and suffering behind those eyes. You can almost hear the ham-fisted boss shouting, "Come on people, this is a party. Look alive!" as he snaps the photo. Those are the smiles you give to the drunk uncle at the family reunion, the McDonalds cashier that can't figure how to count when the cash machine is down, your son's rude friend who has no manners but hasn't said anything quite rude enough to get thrown out of your house.

Coincidentally, those are the looks that are stuck on the faces of every European that's visiting the United States. :P

Ended up with cheap store brand 2-blade wonders that give me a nice razor burn.

I use a Gillette Fusion 5 blade vibrating wonder. A single cartridge lasts me months, but I only shave once a week. The vibration keeps the shavings from getting stuck between the blades, I was always getting eazor burn from the double bladed disposables because the hair would get caught between the blades which fucks up everything.

If you haven't used a blade in a while, it may take your face some time to get used to it.

Like with me, I can only go up (on my neck) with the blade. Going the opposite way will draw blood every time.

I don't know why exactly but once you establish a certain direction to shave, you can't go opposite.

Seems to me that if you want a nice clean close shave, you've pretty much got to go against the grain, as it were.

Yeah, but in my experience anyway that's also how you get the razor burn. I guess everyone's face is a little different, but even if you try to shave as close as possible, it's still just going to grow back in a few hours anyway, so I leave well enough alone and just shave with the grain of my face, not against it.
