Here's a question though, if this was consensual then where's the problem; At what point is the consent given real consent?
That's what I'M sayin.

A man should be able to masturbate in his own house.

I never showed a woman my dick without asking first
As in walking up to them (for example in an elevator) and saying "May I show you my dick?" :?

Not quite. As in his apartment or hotel room. They can leave. I find no fault in him. :)

Remember the good old days when the worst news was about asking somebody for coffee in an elevator? Actually, those days were shit too.

I agree. And I don't think there was much, if any, PR coaching. This sounds like CK. There was no denial, victim blaming, lame excuses, misdirection, spins, or other bullshit that we come to expect from PR coaching. This is CK, telling it like it is, as he's always done. He knows he's in a heap of shit, but at least he's taking responsibility for it, and expressing genuine remorse.

You'll never see Trump calling up his victims to personally apologize.

Well personally I'm willing to say he fucked up, he apologized and I guess that's good enough for me. But it isn't up to me to forgive him. Provided he knocks it off and is serious about being sorry.

Looking at the latest headlines, it doesn't look good. Everyone with some kind of business connection is dropping him like a hot rock.

Seriously, I can't even wrap my head around why people get off masturbating in public. I guess technically what he did wasn't in public but still, they obviously didn't go to his room to watch him masturbate. Who meets women that way?

It's almost as if he wanted this so that his movie would gain more attention and become controversial, and thus become a legendary cult classic....

Save it may not be released.

He was popular enough he did not need such.

His own statement pointed out something super important--that sometimes there is more going with the consent issue than the immediate question of agreement. It's more obvious in cases of employer-employee or a formal power imbalance, but even informally -- he had a certain power in that situation and exploited it to wedge in consent. It may not be illegal but he did take advantage and he was right to apologize for it.

Did the spectators go to his viewing room on their own or were they forced? Why would they go in the first place, that's what I don't quite understand??

I understand consent may not be freely given due to a power imbalance (e.g. Presidents and White House interns, etc.). But I'm also having a hard time equating Louis C.K. asking two women to his hotel room and then asking them if he can take his dick out (weird though it sounds) to anything like "pardon me while I attempt to rape you while you sleep ... It's okay, I'm gay," Kevin Spacey is alleged to have done.

In my opinion, if the women were free to leave, it doesn't seem like it should amount to a career ending offense.

I agree with that. I think in all this we need to learn a sense of proportion. The things that are "not OK" do not need to be treated the same as things that someone should go to jail over, for example.

In fact, lots of them are better as something to learn about than something to punish.

I can only go by rumors I heard over the years so take that with a Image: he tended to force the issue so that women who were vulnerable felt they could not complain. "Who were vulnerable" were some just plain stunned by the situation--who would not?--or lower-level comedians/actresses and the like scared of their careers, such as they were.

Right. Still not Bill Cosby, Bill Clinton, or even Harvey Weinstein. Also, despite all of that I am unaware of actual charges.

Oh well . . . let it sit . . . let is simmer . . .

I imagine that his career is not over, just on hiatus for some time. Whether his stuff will be picked up by Netflix is another question though.
