Hmmm, not so sure about that. As one of my friends once said, "Women turn vinegar, for men it's sad old clown."

True in this case too, but there is also the question of how intensely.

Of course Charlie was a sad young clown back in the day, so maybe it's not time that has been unkind.

Long live the Queen!

The Independent wrote:UK world's largest producer of legal cannabis, finds UN body

Ninety five tonnes of marijuana was produced in the UK in 2016 for medicinal and scientific use, accounting for 44.9 per cent of the world total, its International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) found.

The UK is also the largest exporter of the drug, with 2.1 tonnes exported in 2016 – roughly 70 per cent of the world’s total, the report stated.

Recreational use of cannabis is illegal in the UK, but in recent years, there has been a growing interest in its using it for medicinal purposes.

A number of advocacy groups have called on the government to allow it to be used in treatments.

Drug policy reform group, Transform, criticised the government for being a mass producer while “consistently refusing to allow medical cannabis in the UK on the basis that it has ‘no therapeutic value’”.

Incidentally, you see how "Welfare" tops the list, with "State Pensions" coming in at No. 3? This is a highly misleading interpretation of reality by a government determined to paint benefit claimants as sponging, workshy malingerers. Back in the real world, well over a third of "Welfare" spending goes on government employee pensions: not what I'd call "welfare". The proportion spent on unemployment benefits is actually tiny, not that you'd think so if you listened to government propaganda...

I don't expect the government to work for its pay, (and extremely generous pensions.) Government employees, however, our doctors, nurses, teachers, armed forces, police, paramedics etc. work extremely hard for relatively low wages and for the benefit of all. Rewarding them with a fairly modest pension after what can now be fifty one years service is hardly unreasonable, is it?

It's good that I read this during an intermission in my drinking, or I would have soiled screen & keyboard.

Looks like there's a lot of push back from this Tweet.

So the law may suck, but there's still some sort of freedom of speech with folks denouncing the cops on their own Twitter stream.

An odd version of it.

"I" usually stands for "Inspiring" in that slogan.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"
