I have to behave on the internet now

Postby Nyarlathotep » Mon Feb 05, 2018 8:54 pm

My mom finally joined the 21st century and got internet and is on Facebook now (Or more accurately, the 21st century finally came to her and they finally got decent internet on the rez).

If I disappear, I probably got grounded....

(Actually, my mom was never really an authoritarian type even when I was a kid. So I ought to be fine)

My mom's on Facebook.

I'm not on Facebook, except as a friendless lurker to prevent impersonation.

Not cause and effect, just sayin' :)

I have a big family; three sisters, 13 nieces and nephews, more cousins, uncles and aunts than I can count and now those nieces and nephews are beginning to have children. And I live 100 miles from any of them, so visiting them in person is not on the menu most of the time. And I hate talking to people on the phone. Facebook is the only way I can keep up with them all. Otherwise, I would only see most of them at funerals and weddings

Well then, you'd better behave yourself.

I don't suppose she knows you're "Nyarlathotep"? :notsure:

You'll be ok, unless she finds out you read Lovecraft. (sounds kinda porny)

Mormons?
Dang, my late husband had to tape two pages together to show the family tree within the last I'm guessing fifty years. And he could remember every one by face and name.

Hell, he had four sisters and after 30+ years I still get them confused.

For the most part not Mormons (My youthful flirtation with Mormonism was 100% my own stupidity, not driven by my mostly religiously apathetic family). Just a large family

They distance them selves from the "Utah" Mormons. Really good folks though.
I'm guessing there's a porn site that features "Garment porn." but I ain't looking.

No really I'm not, I've seen far too many old guys in boxer-shorts and wife beaters but boy howdy they can cook some breakfast for 50 people.

And yeah it was boys only breakfast cook though the wimmins did get to eat.

And yes I did consider this a bit weird.

Does she still think your proclamations of being an Outer God of prophet of Cthulhu as just a passing phase? :D

My reason for leaving the church never had anything to do with the people. Some of the friendliest, kindest people I ever met were in the Church.

That's been my experience too, with Mormons.

Very nice, polite people. Knew one in the Navy. Good worker too (one of the few people who I was the boss of for a brief period (night shift supervisor of the corrosion control shop). I don't really boss anyone in my current job.
