Not quite as common as "Bus Plummeting" but certainly a vibrant area for exploration.

Not nearly as newsworthy as gun fatalities but a danger nonetheless.

Tiger kills man who climbed into moat at Indian zoo

NEW DELHI -- A white tiger killed a young man who climbed over a fence at the New Delhi zoo and jumped into the animal's enclosure Tuesday, a spokesman said.

Despite repeated warnings that he shouldn't get too close to the outdoor enclosure, the man eventually climbed over a knee-high fence, through some small hedges, then jumped down 18 feet into a protective moat, said National Zoological Park spokesman Riyaz Ahmed Khan.

The male tiger, which lives on a grassy tree-filled island, grabbed the man from the moat. Footage broadcast on NDTV showed the tiger carrying the man around the island.

Couple making love on fort die in plunge into moat

A French couple apparently engaging in sex on a parapet of a stone fortress were killed when they tumbled off the battlement and into a moat.

Le Figaro newspaper reported that the nude bodies of a man and a woman, both about 30 years old, were found in the moat that surrounds the Vauban fort in the Chausey archipelago in northwestern France, according to the Daily Mirror. The man's body was found in a dried section of the moat; the woman's in shallow water.

I've been looking through a lot of Evil Lair listings these past few months, and moats are very expensive to maintain. Feeding the crocodiles alone costs a fortune, and I can't find even one guy on Craig's list who can repair a draw bridge. It's no wonder that reclusive evil scientists prefer to let their moats dry up. Who would have thought solicitors and interlopers would just plunge into them like this? We could have saved a fortune in the old days. Maybe it's time to sell my pit vipers and dismantle my trap doors? :?
Such potential!
