Life can be oddly symmetrical

Post by gnome » Wed May 09, 2018 3:48 pm

Twenty-two years ago, I started my first long term, full time office job. Water cooler, break room, etc.

About a week or so in, I went to fetch my lunch and found that it had been stolen from the communal refrigerator. Well, worse things had happened to me, and it was a really good job, so I shrugged it off.

In all the years since then I have never had a lunch disappear from any office I worked in. Guess I've been lucky.

Yesterday, I gave my notice at my current workplace in order to accept a job that is 100% work from home. Today, a week or so out from possibly never having to sit in a cubicle full time ever again, I go to fetch my lunch from the communal refrigerator, and it's gone.

Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

Somebody in the know stopped fearing retaliation. Akin to people who don't tip in restaurants they don't intend to come back to.

Oddly symmetrical would be if your last act in the office were to steal the other guy's lunch.

...and if it turned out to be the same guy that had taken mine 22 years ago.

Had you killed him 22 years ago, we would not have to read this thread.

Try to think of others for a change.

No. It was simply the second time I called on an office you worked in. And I was hungry.

There are no innocents. On your last day, steal everyone's lunches.
