The word "modulo" isn't used enough around here. :p

For our British contingent there are U versus non-U (scroll down for list)

https://www.shortlist.com/news/posh-wor ... on-u/60631

The interesting bit to me is that in comparing those lists to what I would call "ordinary American", in many cases even even one of our jadrools would use the "U" word, whereas in others the "non-U" word appears to be more American.

In yet other cases, both British classes are very very British -- U: Cooked Breakfast non-U: Full English

I'm not 100% sure what that is, but I have the impression baked beans are somehow involved. 8)

I'd settle for this, with devilled kidneys, a slice of rump steak and a couple of smoked oysters...

Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.

That old post by ed reminds me of an old bumper sticker:

"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"
