Ambulance chasers and chiropractors!

Postby Abdul Alhazred » Sat Jul 10, 2004 4:14 am

Here's how it works.

Someone is in a car accident and claims medical injuries. But the injuries are non-obvious. No broken bones, visible bruises, and such.

The ambulance chaser sends the plaintiff to a real doctor. If the real doctor finds injuries, then there is a case. Of course, as it should be.

If not, then a second opinion from from a chiropractor. The chiropractor finds a "non-allopathic subluxation". There is a case. Chiropractors are respectable practitioners these days.

The chiropractor gets his end if the lawyer wins the case.

Do you know of any cases of this happening?

I ask because I'd be surprised if it happened without some sort of outcry.
I guess there he chose to err on the side of more votes. -Grammatron

Was a whole segment on. I think, 20/20 about a year ago on this very scam.
Sorry I don't have any more details, though.
