Health improvement project

Postby Pyrrho » Sat Dec 21, 2013 1:37 am

I could wait until next year starts but what for?

Current stats:
Age: 57
Height: 5" 11"
Weight: 185
BMI: 25.8

Exercise level: Negligible.

Goals:
Lose 15 lbs.
Exercise at least 30 minutes per session 3 days per week.
Weight training as appropriate.

Target date: None, really. I will update status whenever I update status.

I weighed 220 a year ago, so I've made some progress. I had been down to 180 a few weeks ago. I've plateaued and weight gain is in progress. Time to kick my own ass, more or less.

Oh, and fuck.

There, I just did 2 sets of 5 pushups. That's 10 more than I did yesterday. May have to start with bent-knee style until the muscles get used to the idea.

You're perfectly fine at 5'11" weighing 185!

I think 170 would be too skinny for your height.

But that is just one woman's opinion :)

He does not care for womens opinions.

And, btw, what is all this fagolacious discussion of sweaty exercise and lifting inanamite objects? You all do know who started it, right?

Diet and exercise for the last year and a half.

6' 2" -- 345# down to 275# and still going.

No I will NOT boast about the number of sit ups. :BigGrin3:

I agree with Ed's spoiler  . That being said, weight loss depends more on diet than on exercise (or you have to do it for hours each day…): we are too efficient machines.
It's not easily done, but easily tested: two or three days on steamed fish & green vegetables, no oil, no salt, only water to drink. That sucks so much that you appetite dies of boredom.

And now I'll indulge in an old armagnac. :D

Changed my mind: an Isle of Jura Superstition seems more in line with the SC…

Current stats:
Age: 48
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 240
BMI: Fucked if I know.

Goals:
Try not to lose mind.
Jog to the booze shop at least twice a day
Lift nothing heavier than a pizza.
Die before Pyrrho.
Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.

Breakfast: 2 eggs over easy. 1 slice of cheddar melted on it.

Pushups: 1.

Maybe later.

53 y/o
5' 11" (I swear I used to be 6')
17something lbs. I think.
Currently out of shape tone-wise but I appear okay with my cloths on. There is distinct jiggling happening. No man-tits yet but I'm hopeful. I could probably manage 30 pushups. I ain't gotta prove it. Belief that I can is enough for me.

No goals.
Fuck it.
