Champagne Taittinger along with their UK partner Hatch Mansfield Ltd and friends have set up Domaine Evremond, purchasing 69 hectares of farmland at Selling Court Farm in Kent. 40 hectares of this will be planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes to produce English Sparkling Wine.
This unique collaboration marks the first time that a Champagne house has invested in the UK with the intention of producing a range of premium English sparkling wines.
In other news, the Swiss have started to craft beers from wild yeasts (as the Belgians do; there are special attics, e. g. in Brussels, where the goo remains in the open for that, notably for making lambic & kriek, a cherry beer. Try the Boon, which isn't sweet but a tad salty and bitter) by taking their vats around vineyards & orchards. I'm looking forward to tasting that!
All in French, sorry for you:
