Different story, but it plays to the same concept.
Only this time it is alleged to have already worked! Jackson’s police chief credits power of prayer for drop in crimeWAPT News
JACKSON, Miss. —Jackson Police Chief Lee Vance said crime is down in the city this year compared to last and he said it’s because of the power of prayer.
"I believe in the power of God and I believe in the power of prayer. I believe that there is something that you are concerned about in your life or in your profession, that you should turn to you creator and pray and ask for help, and we did that,” Vance said. “As a leader of this Police Department, I am not ashamed to say that we are going to do it again. We’ve seen the differences in our numbers and if you pray and ask for something and your prayers are answered, then the glory should be to God, who you pray to.”
Vance held a prayer service Friday on the steps of the Jackson Police Department, which is something he began doing at the beginning of the year.
“At the end of the year, we were scrapping just to come up with a crime reduction. We ended up having one of about 2.4 percent because of God’s grace and mercy. And we asked that God would help us to be sure that our city became safer and give me the wisdom, give us the wisdom, as a police administrative team to help us,” Vance said. “So, six months into the year, I have the pleasure to report that we have, to date, a 14 percent crime reduction,” Vance said.
