Guess who was seduced by The Dark Side

Postby Abdul Alhazred » Fri Jan 29, 2016 4:13 pm

Sacrilegious “Mass” Scheduled in Brooklyn Diocese
Lepanto Institute (Traditionalist Roman Catholic site)

We wish this was just a joke. It is not. It is pure sacrilege taking place in a parish in Brooklyn, New York. Not only does the Diocese of Brooklyn know about this abomination ... it actually helped advertise it on facebook! ...

Quite a trend: http://www.skepticalcommunity.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=43786#p806819

These contortions (especially of the catholic church) always delight me – shows they're nearing their end. 8)

I'm not so sure about that.

Maybe the USA branch is fixing to split.

LOL at anyone complaining about the Star Wars mass as sacrilege in a diocese where Bingo is featured on a regular basis.

http://thetablet.org/around-the-diocese-oct-17-2015/

Holy Name of Jesus, Park Slope — Radio Bingo, Oct. 17, 7:30 p.m. doors open; 8 – 10:30 p.m. bingo. $40 per person/ $350 for table of 10. Includes beer, soda, wine and pretzels.

St. Josaphat, Bayside — Leisure club trip to Sands Casino, Bethlehem, Pa., Oct.22, 8:30 a.m. $30, Call Joy, [REDACTED], for reservations.

etc.

Star Wars mass is sacrilege because Star Wars is a competing brand.

I am (always the optimist). From their squealing it's clear they lack more and more:
– cash;
– attendance.

Opening themselves to science-fiction "beliefs" trying to bring people, and money, back is opening the chicken coop to the foxes. Stories from dusty books won't stand up to computer generated miracles happening on-screen.
From what I hear from "Catholics" they already are cherry-picking their "faith" for the bits which please them. So another step towards dilution of Christianity in wishy-washy New Agey offense-no-one "good feelings about the Universe" and Jesus loves you.

It will still take some time, of course, but: good riddance.

It only means they are going out in the "developed" world.

Quite a change from the ends that they are usually nearing....
