Anyone got Tyson's actual words on the topic? I have a feeling "likely" may be overstating his actual argument.

I would be most happy to find that Tyson is more interested in how to tell than speculating on the outcome. That's where the real science is.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

I'm guessing Tyson is also one of those "Singularity" geeks. :)

In short, a gullible ninny rather than a stoner.

But he kicks ass when it comes to raising money for the Planetarium.

Fuck string theory: What we need is a yarn theory.

Here ya go:

Yarn theory is tied to the theory that there is a black hole inside Kirby's tummy that allows him eat eat anything.

What? You don't believe me?

Wait, you think only gamers and not actual scientific researchers talk about this theory?
Scientist At Ohio University Claims Black Holes Less Like Kirby And More Like Jiggly

I'm sure if you dig hard enough, you'll find theories on how yarn theory relates to black holes.
Such potential!
