Now that I'm officially unemployed retired jobless, I spend my days watching chess.

And this

Pretty cool.

I also enjoy watching chess, especially when someone who plays well is commenting on the rationale for the moves. I like agadmator's channel on you tube but there are also lots of other good ones.

You follow the recent world chess championships between Carlsen and Caruana?

How about the super computer games with Alpha Zero Deep Mind? Some of those were fantastic.

Anyway if you are on chess.com, feel free to friend me for some chess games. My handle is vm3333

I'll keep that in mind. But really, my chess skills are sorely lacking this late in life. I don't mind playing computers but I get uncomfortable playing humans; I always feel rushed. It's very sad really.

But I might look you up eventually. Until then, enjoy this restoration

part two in a week or so I hope. I like this guy.

Not getting shit-faced?

Nice work!
Shit happens. The older you get, the more often shit happens. So you have to try not to give a shit even when you do. Because, if you give too many shits, you've created your own shit creek and there's no way out other than swimming through the shit. Oh, and fuck.

Yeah I've been watching chess too ever since I started that thread. Just came across a Youtube video one day and kinds got sucked in. I hadn't really thought about chess much in ages. But there's a few good channels besides agadmator's. Lately I've been watching Jerry's instructional series. One reason I suck at chess is that I lack patience. But Jerry shows how to think about different positions.
