The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

Yeah, we will get right on it when they apologize to Korea, China, the Philippines, Australia, the United States.

And it isn't as if the Japanese didn't have a unit dedicated to bettering their own capacity to commit war crimes...At least nuclear weapons were a new thing and not covered by any treaties yet. The Japanese were experimenting with biological and chemical warfare (and testing them on prisoners) in full defiance of various international treaties against them.

Anybody can run in a primary of either major party by filing the right paperwork.

Difficult on the presidential level because it needs to be done over again in every state.

NY Mag wrote:Republican Member of Congress Tells Scientists Rising Sea Level Caused by More Dirt on Ocean Floor

Yesterday, the House Science Committee held a hearing on “Using Technology to Address Climate Change.” The debate quickly ran aground on the question of whether climate change is being caused by increases in greenhouse gas emissions, as climate scientists believe, or whether the entire theory has been falsified by an international scientific cabal in service of a secret agenda to extend government control of the economy, as most Republicans believe.
[…]
Representative Mo Brooks brought his distinct analytical contribution to the debate by trying to prove to Philip Duffy, Ph.D., President of the Woods Hole Research Center and a former senior adviser in the White House National Science and Technology Council, that the sea-level rise might have causes other than the warming of the ocean and melting land ice caused by warmer temperatures.
[…]
Brooks: “Every time you have that soil or rock deposited into the seas, that causes the sea level to rise, because now you’ve got less space in those oceans, because the bottom is moving up.”

He may have a point but, has he backed it up with real-world data? (hahaha. as if.)

At any given time parts of the land are being eroded away into the sea, while in other parts new mountains are rising due to continental plate movements (I think the Himilayas and the Andes are probably still rising.) I'm guessing that geologists who study this stuff for a living have looked into the question. Many places that are now land were once at the bottom of a sea somewhere. Sedimentary rock gets uplifted by the plate movements over eons to become land, while other places sink under the sea.

Looks like Nevada could go back to being a sanctuary from ICE:

“A legislative measure proposed by a Nevada senator would prohibit state and local law enforcement agencies from carrying out immigration enforcement operations.“
