Lazy Americans the root of all evil

Post by DanishDynamite » Tue Sep 21, 2004 9:33 pm

Bet that title got your attention, eh? 8)

Anyway, here is another Danish news article (blame Grammy):

Dollar decline likely to hit Danish exports
Danish exporters can expect little help from a better performing US dollar. Economists expect the dollar to lose strength in the years to come.

The dollar has already withstood a series of serious value drops in recent years. Three years ago, the dollar was trading for nearly DKK 8.90. On Monday, one dollar sold for DKK 6.12 - a decline of more than 31 percent.

Economists say that figure could drop even more in the next one to two years, bringing little in the way of help to Danish exporters who have lost competitive ability in recent years due to the falling US dollar. The sluggish US currency has made foreign goods sold in dollars cheaper to buy - while Danish wares, sold in kroner, have gotten costlier on a number of export markets.
Ok Yanks, get of your lazy butts and start performing. Oh, and stop all those costly (mis)adventures in exotic lands.

Suddenly the title of this thread isn't so exaggerated after all. :)

We just know how to get stuff done faster, hence leaving more time for holidays.....yeah, right. In fact you are correct. We are lazier. On the other hand, who needs to be stressing out constantly? Is there some goal we must reach? Just got that one life to live, you know.

One of my favorite Simpson's quotes goes something like: "Lisa, if you don't like the way the company is treating you, you don't go on strike. You just do everything really half-assed like everyone else."
Such potential!

That is the goal we are all rushing to fulfill? Man, I'm not looking for that kind of responibility!
