- Face - after supporting that bucket of shit country for 60 years it is tough to drop them into the crapper of history
- Schadenfreude - They get to enjoy watching our discomfiture, and the japs. The Chinese remember Nanking.
- Reality - they know that the "threat" would last as long as it takes a nuke to detonate. That is to say, NK would be glass if the Chinese really perceived them to be a threat to their economic well being.
I'd let my kids play with small quantities of explosives. I would probably draw the line at pounds of C4. Maybe.
All that said, I don't understand why the Chinese wouldn't want a robust trading partner on their boarder.
