The Schadenfreude Thread

Post by ed » Wed Nov 09, 2016 12:06 pm

scha·den·freu·de
ˈSHädənˌfroidə/Submit
noun
pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune
.

Wherein I sip my deplorable redneck hooch and glory in the lamentation of the hippies and precious progressive elements in this great land of ours.

The miracle of Democracy is not that we can elect whoever we please but that, after it is over, we get to savor the angst and vitriol and anger of our political opponents.
Trump victory sparks angry protests across California: 'Not my president'

Hahahahahaha ... Suck that hippies. Have a little water with it. Ain't got none? Too bad.

Seriously. You guys that were posting thru the night nailed it, I think. She took a win for granted. She was the ultimate DC insider and we have had it with folks like her.

From a month ago...
Democrats are now extremely confident they will capture control of the Senate next month in the wake of Donald Trump’s drop in the polls and an intensifying civil war in the Republican Party.

Winning the majority is a given, Democratic officials told The Hill, adding that signs point to a pickup of seven seats and possibly more on Election Day.

To win control of the Senate, Democrats need to pick up four seats on Nov. 8, or five if Trump wins the White House.

But they say the billionaire businessman has no chance of becoming commander in chief and that his bombshell comments about groping women have tilted races around the country.
Democrats contend they’re on track to pick up seats in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

“You’re looking at a potential plus-seven night,” said a Senate Democratic strategist. “I mean, that is a huge night for us if that’s how it goes down.”

Here you go, Bubbee --

https://reason.com/blog/2016/11/09/in-v ... p-promises

Meanwhile, the looming fiscal crisis still looms (forgot that one didn't you), and all Trump has to offer is his experience taking companies through bankruptcy. Too bad you can't just liquidate and start a new country.

Or will we go Yugoslavia along ethnic lines first?

OK.

The three way race is now a two way race. I refer to the race to be the last president of the United States.

Obama can still win. :)

And just as I predicted all the post-election violence was from Democrats. Lots of burning and vandalism in Commiefornia.

Let me guess -- Oakland, right?

And it would be the same either way. Burning cars can be celebratory too. :)

That was my conspiracy argument from the beginning, Trump is an expert in bankruptcy, he was selected to take the country through bankruptcy.

Just one anecdotal data point, but may be significant.

The trains were running on time today. :o

People are so dumb. Crying about Bush and praising Obama when Obama was a continuation of Bush policies.

Idiots can't think past party.

I think this may have been from last night...or early this morning...anyway;
Bernie supporters on Twitter erupt in anger against the DNC: ‘We tried to warn you!’
As Donald Trump continues to win battleground states, Bernie Sanders supporters are shaming the DNC for nominating Hillary Clinton.

The dominant mood on social media is that Clinton’s floundering election hopes are the fault of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for rigging the Democratic primary in Hillary Clinton’s favor. Popular pro-Sanders Twitter accounts are going viral over the news of Donald Trump carrying North Carolina and Ohio, and leading in other must-win swing states like Florida and New Hampshire.

Others lamented on significant losses for Democratic U.S. Senate and Congressional candidates who fell short of the votes needed to re-assert Democratic control of those respective legislative bodies.
Wikileaks has tended to support this assumption (rigging the primaries), I agree.

Wait, there's more...
New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, who was one of Hillary Clinton’s most outspoken surrogates during the contentious Democratic primary, blamed Clinton’s poor performance on Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who has so far received a negligible number of votes nationally, saying Stein was the Ralph Nader of 2016 in preventing a Clinton victory. The account @BerniesTeachers threw Krugman’s analysis back in his face.
Then Skank Of America could start in...

D-Piddy, aka, the most awesome Deadpool Cosplayer On Earth

I noticed the smug style in American liberalism rising the last couple of years. This smug point of view was quick to censor, silence, and belittle those who were on "the wrong side."

So many people were shocked and surprised by this upset and their knee jerk reaction was to call opponents idiots, racists and bigots, labeling in an attempt to identify them as below human.

What has been most heartbreaking to me about this election cycle is not that we might have voted in the worst candidate, but that the American people are so polarized that they are beyond respecting and understanding each other, regardless of their differences. People would rather stay in their personal bubble rather than to have uncomfortable discourse with their fellow man.

People say, “I don’t know anyone who would vote for Trump!” That’s part of the problem then, isn’t it? When we isolate ourselves from our neighbors because they don’t agree with us, we forget they exist. Then when we are bitterly reminded that they too want their voices heard and we respond with disgust, so why wouldn’t they feel disrespected? It’s a self-perpetuating cycle.

What ever side you chose, just remember the president serves us and not the other way around. If he fucks up or does something bad we have the power to remove him. He does not define us or our nation. It's best to move on and ensure a good future with this unstable man and stop fighting in between ourselves and start preparing for the future. Whatever side you chose, let's work towards a better future for America.
