I've seen this claim many times, but never seen any evidence. Got any? Seems odd for a "Republican" to assemble a team that donates exclusively to Democrats.

From the article that Wikipedia sources
The shake-up got great reviews from judges, federal agents and defense attorneys, among others. Boxer, one of the Senate's most liberal members, was so smitten with the Republican prosecutor that she bypassed declared candidates and backed Mueller for the permanent post.

"Normally, I wouldn't be saying, 'Let's nominate a straight white Republican cop as U.S. attorney,' " said San Francisco defense lawyer Cristina Arguedas, who said just that on Mueller's behalf. "But he's so superior."
Frankly if you track his career I would never have guessed he's a registered Republican or with any other party.

Michael Cohen pleads guilty to 8 counts

So that's 3 in one day!

Manafort found guilty on 8 counts, Cohen pleads guilty to 8 counts and Duncan Hunter (one of the first members of congress to formally endorse Trump) and his wife indicted for campaign fraud.

:De_Bunk:
Schadenfreude, indeed. I am not surprised some people will feel that way.

I assume then you might enjoy what I just posted over in another thread (quoting Ben Shapiro):
viewtopic.php?p=926934#p926934

Enjoy it while it lasts. :P

Edited to add: I just noticed, if you do the numerology for today's date, 8/21, then you get 2+1 = 3, and each of the three has 8 counts. It was clearly inevitable, according to Nostradamus. 8)

Shapiro is definitely far, far to the right of me politically, but he seems to have consistent principles and not just partisan (in a "my party right or wrong" way). And he doesn't seem to be enthralled by Trump either.

I don't care enough to go any farther than Wikipedia. If you don't want to believe that he's a Republican, then suit yourself. Every media report that I've seen that mentions his party affiliation says he's a Republican.

It's not up to me to prove he isn't a Republican, it's up to those claiming he is to show evidence. And I have yet to see a single shred of evidence, it all begins and ends with "because Bush appointed him and Bush is a Republican" which is pretty shitty logic.

You made the claim Anax, where's your evidence?

Mueller, 56, is a registered Republican, yet a striking number of people describe him as apolitical. A Justice Department senior staff meeting went quiet this year when Mueller ran through a list of people he considered qualified for top temporary jobs, most of them Democrats. It had never occurred to him that Democrats and the new Republican administration might not mesh.

Fixed. Party registration really is meaningless, it just means that's whose primary you vote in. Illinois has open primaries but I voted in the Democrat primary almost exclusively, all except one time. Why? Because in my area there's almost no Republicans running in a primary. If I had to register I'd register as Democrat simply because registering as a Republican is pointless.

And yet party registration is precisely what makes one a member of that party or not. If you are registered as a Democrat, it doesn't matter even if you always vote Republican, you are still technically a Democrat. And the same applies in reverse. If you register to vote and an independent, then you are neither. You might in fact be very partisan toward one side or the other, but you are technically an independent.

And in 26 states you cannot vote in a primary unless you are declared.
