So far we have two entries for the TDS definition.
I'm still waiting on Abdul for his definition

Let me try:

-An immediate assumption that anything that Trump or one of his supporters do or says is evil in intent and in outcome
-A hyper sensitivity to events that might, in some implausible way, relate to Trump or one of his supporters then (1), above
-A visceral and immediate demonstration, visual or aural or, preferably both,of massive disapproval whenever the name "Trump" is heard or seen

If there is 4.1 growth and you are muttering the word Russia you might have TDS.
If you talk about impeachment and the subject isn't history you might have TDS.
If you call Ivanka a feckless cunt because she posts a family photo on twitter you might have TDS.
If you dog whistle for violence against others via the term "resistance" because you are butt hurt over losing you might have TDS.

It's sort of like the Jeff Foxworthy joke except it's less funny.
The Urban Dictionary has four contenders here.
So far this is my favorite.
A mental dysfunction causing those detractors with hateful thoughts and feelings about Donald Trump to go unhinged.
The great thing about Donald Trump becoming the next President of the United States is a lot of those establishment folks who suffer Trump Derangement Syndrome will go insane.
Then Skank Of America could start in...

Woman accused of ramming vehicle because of its Trump bumper sticker

Trump derangement syndrome? Woman accused of ramming vehicle because of its Trump bumper sticker
A man told police on Monday he was stopped at a red light in Hyannis, Massachusetts, when the driver behind him began honking the horn, the Cape Cod Times reported
...
Brendan added to the station that “the first thing she said when I came out of the car was, ‘Did you vote for Trump?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, what of it?’”

With that, he told WBZ, the driver yelled, “You’re racist!” along with “a bunch of cuss words” coming at him “nonstop.”
But that wasn’t the worst of it.

Brendan recorded video of the incident as the driver first allegedly hit the back of his car then clipped his open door, missing him by inches, WBZ said.

That seems to be rather deranged behavior IMHO, YMMV.

A short video at the link.

Edited for brevity

I trust that the Trump resisters and proponents of charges of treason etc etc will remember that what goes round, comes round.
Yeah. Maybe in response the GOP will do something really crazy and push for impeachment of a Dem President based on non-material misleading testimony in a civil case having nothing directly to do with the presidency.

Anyone who worries about making Trumpers mad is a fool. They are going to be as dirty and nasty as possible no matter what happens.
You miss the point entirely.

This goes beyond MAGA types, this is making undecideds wonder about the anti-trumpers. And to the extent that they are not disavowed by the dem leadership, the democratic party generally.
Your concern is heartwarming.

The rabid folks on both sides need to be ignored. The fact that Trump is one of them on the GOP side makes this ... problematic.

Calling Trump rabid is a rabid thing to do, and thus according to you, should be ignored.

Then ignore me. :De_Bunk: Except, I'm not foaming at the mouth. Trump is. Just watch and listen to any of his rallies and you'll have the proof you need.

Eh?

I have watched and listened and I have seen no such proof. Your characterization of Trump is unfounded.

Nonetheless, I have no intention of following your advice on who to ignore. In accordance with the purported purpose of this forum, I reserve the option to challenge nonsense when someone posts it.

Calling Trump rabid isn't rabid, but it's foolish and wrong.

Never mind his clowning around. He is cold and calculating.

Trump is an abusive asshole and knowing that doesn't equate to an emotional illness.

I must have missed where someone made that equation.

Rabid is not synonymous with "abusive asshole".

I'll repeat what I have posted elsewhere on this forum: Trump is like a Rorschach Test in that people tend to see what they want to see, not what's really there.

For the record, Pyrrho does not have Trump Derangement Syndrome. He is merely biased, as am I.

Abusers do as abusers do. Far too many of them get a pass.

I would understand "rabid" in a right wing political context as something on the order of Alex Jones weeping and having temper tantrums on camera (supposing it's sincere).

Not the Trump style at all, though rabid types may very well dig The DonTM.

Can you at least acknowledge that this is a continuation of a trend that began under Obama?

You may be familiar with the line of reasoning that the improvement in the economy is not really Trump's doing.
Hard to prove either way.

Then there's the line of reasoning that it really isn't an improvement.
That seems to be more or less the official Democratic Party line.

Then there's the theory that Trump is so evil he consciously and deliberately improved the economy to distract us from RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA!!!!!!!!!!

TDS in the streets:
Woman accused of hitting car in Hyannis after confrontation over Trump bumper sticker

BARNSTABLE — A Taunton woman accused of intentionally driving into a man’s car a month ago after becoming enraged by a Trump bumper sticker pleaded not guilty Monday in Barnstable District Court to a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Chloe Wright, 25, also faces charges of vandalizing property and leaving the scene of property damage. She was released on $1,250 bail and was ordered to stay away from the victim.

On June 30, a man called Barnstable police to report a hit-and-run crash. He told responding officers he had been driving south on Bearses Way in Hyannis, and was stopped for a red light at the intersection of Route 28 when the driver of the car behind him began honking the horn, according to a police report.

The man continued driving onto Bassett Lane and the car followed, with the driver still honking, the man told police, according to the report. When he stopped again for a red light at the intersection with North Street, the driver also began yelling, the man said.

Thinking that something might be wrong with the back of his car, the man stepped out into the road. The driver began yelling at him about a Donald Trump bumper sticker on the back of his car, he told police.

“She said, ‘You voted for Trump?’” the man wrote in a statement. “I said yes. She called me a racist and several other names.”

As the man began recording the incident on his phone, the woman drove around his car, prompting him to step back into the driver’s side door opening, he told police, according to the report. The woman then drove at him and hit the open door, he said, according to the report.

I watched the video. That's not really what he was saying.

He was saying Trump wants to change the conversation to this and not the other stuff.
