Wait, what? I thought there was a deal.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

There was but Rand Paul had to pontificate into the wee hours so it was delayed.

I get his point, but the reality is they needed bipartisan support and that means everyone agrees to give the holdouts more pork rather than spending cuts.

Okay, now I am confused. That article only has the spending measure going until March 23. I thought I heard it was a 2 year deal specifically so we didn't have this bullshit every 2-4 weeks ad infinitum.

What I know: I am not operating under a shut down right now.

I do not profess to know the future.

I am not talking about some undefined future. I would swear upon my mother's grave, were she dead, that I heard it mentioned this was a two year deal in an attempt to break the cycle of these constant short term resolutions. But I must have misheard or that deal must have died if we are going to be going through this shutdown bullshit AGAIN next month.

There may well be something under consideration.

When the money really runs out, it will not be during one of these official psychodramas.

I think there was a deal to raise the debt ceiling and a deal to keep the government open, but a final budget deal is still in the works.

The Democrats think there is widespread support for open borders and unlimited illegal immigration, and thus they are trying to drag this out until November.

IMHO this is political suicide, but from their bubbles in NY and CA they think it's a winning strategy.

Shouldn't that make you happy? Not as happy as ACTUAL suicide, but happy nonetheless? So why are you complaining?

I believe they really want these things, but they are trying to get it done (because it's "right") regardless of widespreadness.

If they didn't commit mass suicide over Trump getting elected, they aren't going to commit mass suicide.

Democrats do nothing "because it's right". Everything they do is based on the belief it will increase their political power. And they will choose party over country every single time.

As an Illinois resident you should know this.

Politicians do nothing because its right and only do things because it increases their own power. No one has clean hands. Lets not pretend otherwise.

A distinction without a difference.

That's what they think is right.

After all, they don't think of themselves as villains after the manner of the Joker, even if they really are. :)

Is a compromise measure on DACA (which relates to people who were brought over as minors, not of their own initiative) tantamount to an "Open Borders" policy? Last I heard there was significant majority popular support--there's no way all of them are "open border" Democrats.
