We need a thread where people bring "eyebrow raising" stories, without revealing which party is behind it, and seeing where the comments go. No linkies necessary because it's not evaluating the evidence, but to comment what people think if the story was assumed true.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

If you are going to lick a boot, you might as well start with the sole.

I would almost think this is one of those out of context quote memes that are all the rage, only the meme is put out by the same organization that the speaker is a spokesperson for. Granted, the "organization" is basically the RW equivalent of "Occupy Democrats" and little more than a purveyor of partisan bullshit, but still.

Can never be 100% sure of that these days, but I can find nothing leading me to that conclusion.

Plus the page it came from is a big swamp of stupid that would make the Free Republic goons go "Geez guys, tone it down a bit"

It isn't parody. Thing is, the nastier pro-cop martyrdom bullshit is generally far worse from people supporting cops rather than the cops themselves. Most cops can handle criticism and are made of sterner stuff than the people that want to worship cops for political purposes.

Don't get me wrong, cops tend to be way too self-dramatic about their jobs, and that is getting more and more toxic, but the cop supporters that want to label any dissent as cop hating are a different measure, because their support really has nothing to do with supporting the actual police.

For example, this cop fetish doesn't extend to anyone investigating the President. This is because their support of cops is conditional that the cops go after "those people" and leave "us" alone.

These are generally the same people that get the vapors because someone is 'disrespecting the flag' because they take a knee for the national anthem...then kick back at the beach with their American flag beach towel.

They don't give a shit about cops or flags or whatever, they just want a metaphorical club to beat their enemies with.

One of the simpler ways to define what we often refer to as racism is that there is a dominant social group that demands the law exist to serve them and that the law exist to bind the "others."

It doesn't have to be race, obviously there are economic/gender/religion/whatever groupings here, and it isn't binary. One person can be in the dominant group in one context and in the "other" group in a different context. Like a rich business owner who is a Muslim.

Something recently in some other thread about not being able to do satire because real life has caught up with it.

In that case the target was feminists, but it might well be a more general phenomenon not tied to any one ideology.

Call it Abdul's Over-The-Top-ness Principle. 8)

When things such as "Blue Lives Matter" exist, this isn't parody even if that is the intent.

It's a quote attributed to a person but the person never used that quote. I believe the correct term people like to use here is "Fake but accurate"

Nope, just fake.

"Fake but accurate" would people that admit the presented evidence is phony but claim that the person really did say that.

I don't see such a claim from RCC.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Seems to me to be a paraphrasing of Fake but accurate

It's a quote attributed to a person but the person never used that quote. I believe the correct term people like to use here is "Fake but accurate"
Which is nowhere near parody.

As to source, it is sloppiness were she not to have said that, and fraud if she were never to have taken a consistent position. Either way, it only matters if the source is specifically essential to the message, which to me it isn't. It's a pretty standard position and the position is bullshit no matter who says it.

Now, if I were saying this specific person is bad because they said this, then it is an issue...

I think you are trying to imitate Claus a bit too much.

Parody: an imitation of the style of a particular writer, artist, or genre with deliberate exaggeration for comic effect.
