This one will be ignored because it doesn't fit the narrative. He killed his parents 90 minutes after he was released from a mental hospital.

Sometimes I read these stories and think "this isn't the America I recognise"

You can't quite say "ignored" because it did make the Trib.

But I'm sure we won't be hearing a lot about it tomorrow.

It won't get much publicity (at least until he's caught), but it will be included in Bloomberg's "OMG there's been a gazillion school shootings this year" numbers.

Turns out he used his dad's gun to kill them. His dad is a cop. Possibly he got the gun out of his parents' car when they came to pick him up and then he shot them in the dorm.

I've always said that police are some of the most careless people when it comes to guns, because they rarely face consequences for their irresponsible behavior. I very rarely leave my gun in the car, and that only happens if I have to go into a "gun-free zone" and it's never been for more than a few minutes such as picking up a FedEx package. I wouldn't ever leave the car unlocked, or give someone else keys to the car if I had a gun in it.

I've always said that police are some of the most careless people when it comes to guns, because they rarely face consequences for their irresponsible behavior. That's why I'm gonna turn in my shield. I very rarely leave my gun in the car, and that only happens if I have to go into a "gun-free zone" and it's never been for more than a few minutes such as picking up a FedEx package full of illegal ammunition or hollowed out cats heads. I wouldn't ever leave the car unlocked, or block a cock, or give someone else keys to the car if I had a gun in it or had been cock blocked or both.

Wait.

What?
