It will be interesting to see what the generic polls look like next week. If Democrats didn't lose major ground the country truly is lost, and it's nothing but a shitshow from here on out.

Brett Kavanaugh: FBI contacts second woman

The FBI has approached the second woman to accuse US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct as it begins a fresh inquiry into him.

Deborah Ramirez accuses Judge Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her during a drinking game when they were students at Yale University in the 1980s.

The judge has denied the allegation, describing it as a smear.

President Donald Trump ordered a new investigation after the judge's first accuser testified to a Senate panel.

Filmmaker and blatherskite Michael Moore has said that the Senate must take Dr Ford seriously.

OK.

In other news, his ex-wife has recently filed a lawsuit making serious allegations against Michael Moore.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, Michael Moore dismisses her lawsuit as a smear campaign. His lawyer says she is trying to smear him in the press with her false allegations.

Oh my.

Yet another example of double standards by a liberal dipshit.

I debated where to put this one...
Republicans' prosecutor says Brett Kavanaugh's accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, has a weak case
WASHINGTON — The sex crimes prosecutor hired last week by Senate Republicans to question witnesses about a sexual assault claim against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh said Sunday night that his accuser has a very weak case.

Rachel Mitchell issued a five-page report in which she said Christine Blasey Ford's accusation that Kavanaugh assaulted her at a small, suburban house party in 1982 normally would be "incredibly difficult to prove."

But "this case is even weaker than that," Mitchell wrote to Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee. "Dr. Ford identified other witnesses to the event, and those witnesses either refuted her allegations or failed to corroborate them.

"I do not think that a reasonable prosecutor would bring this case based on the evidence before the committee. Nor do I believe that this evidence is sufficient to satisfy the preponderance-of-the-evidence standard."
Then Skank Of America could start in...

Lindsey Graham Just Became Feinstein’s Worst Nightmare Investigation Imminent
Lindsey Graham just became Feinstein’s worst nightmare investigation imminent now. Diane Feinstein, in her old age has become a puppet for George Soros, she or someone on her staff leaked the information. And Senator Graham wants to know who. Sen. Lindsey Graham tells G Stephanopoulos he's going to call for an investigation into a d e s p i c a b l e process, including who in Feinstein's office referred Christine Blasey Ford to her attorney Debra Katz and who b e t r a y e d Dr. Ford's trust.
He seems to be holding to the theory the Democrats threw her under the bus when all else failed...

Though, on the post itself--I'm reminded of the scene from the second half of Full Metal Jacket (there was a second half, indeed!), when everyone's yelling at Doc Jay (?) not to be an idiot, but when he rushes out anyway they feel compelled to commit to the action and provide covering fire. Understandable in a real military operation, of course, but politics doesn't quite count. Might prove to have been an unwise decision (to jump in to help the reckless)

for those who can't see tweets:

I’m told by source with direct knowledge that Flake is “still having issues” and that some colleagues are trying to “walk him through them.” Sen Coons tells me just now that Flake reached out to him and asked if they could speak at length later.
Unnamed source, but it appears that Flake is still wobbly.

I would have thought Flake is too smart to buy into the bullshit story. If he’s wobbly, it must be because he’s looking for a way to fuck Trump before he leaves.

And the fucker that made hay on that particular pack of lies was Al Sharpton who was subsequently sued in a civil suit. He has not paid a dime and was a close advisor to Barack Hussein O'Bama. Do you think a white republican could have gotten away with that?

Sharpton was not a "close advisor" to Obama and never worked for Obama in any official capacity as far as I can remember.

His advisors were people like Valerie Jarret and Rahm and so on. People with official titles as "Administration Officials".

He replaced Jesse Jackson as Obama's go to guy. Not an official position of course.

On the strength of that Sharpton got a TV show, and now he's every Democrat's go to guy.

Elaborate? When did this occur? (him being Obama' s "go to guy")

Meanwhile, he passes the first hurdle, and Collins, who voted "yes" for cloture, will announce her final decision in debate at 3 P.M. ETT ["Eastern Trump Time"--Ed.].

However, if she votes "no" and everyone else stays the same, the vote is 50-50 and Pence has the tie-breaker. However, moreover, the 51-49 included Joe Manchin. If he votes "no" then Welcome to Hell, Blofeld!
