Can’t he just lie on his Tinder profile? Or is that where society draws the line at the moment?

How good are Dutch pensions?

I might be willing to work out a trade for my "legal" age.

Yes. That's the easier option. Never mind a trade. "I identify as 67. Now give me my full social security benefits."

Does that mean sovereign citizens can identify as having diplomatic immunity?

This old guy who wants to go through all the trouble of legally changing his age so he can date younger women reminds me of the scene in Breakfast Club with the kid who got a fake ID showing he's 68 ... so he can vote.

In the unlikely event he's successful, something tells me the Dutch girls might not be so gullible.

I think they already do, but they can't sue for it in a court they don't recognize as having valid authority. 8)

There are guys younger than his purported age who can't get dates.

Why not identify as "desirable"? :BigGrin3:

I think a lot of older European men already do that. But it also involves them "identifying" with airplanes and flying to Southeast Asia where younger women "identify" with their wallets.

Or at least give me the "senior discount" at the restaraunt. :D

Reading the article I get the sense that he isn't serious about this, and just wants the attention. Also probably as a way to mock transgender people.

Also, if he's a "pensioner" is he offering to give up his pension? I'd counter, "Sure thing. You can now identify as 45 on Tinder. Also, you can't receive a pension for the next 20 years."

I think so, too. But the article says he’s offering to give up his pension. Thus my offer.

On the other hand, I know a guy in his mid-50s who hooked up with a 20-something here in Japan who, he says, must have misheard him when she asked his age. After she learned he wasn’t mid-40s, she acted shocked and wouldn’t have any more to do with him.

So, possibly improved chances with younger women in exchange for his pension. Doesn’t sound like such a great trade to me. But maybe the old Dutch guy knows what he’s talking about.
