Black Mirror

Postby Rob Lister » Sat Dec 27, 2014 3:57 pm

If you're a fan of Twilight Zone, you'll enjoy Black Mirror.

Image

It is available on Netflix.

Each episode is utterly independent so it doesn't matter which one you watch first. I do not, Do Not, DO NOT recommend watching S01E01 first. Watch it, furshur, but not first. It is misleading as to the scope of the series.

So I'm guessing you'll all watch that one first.

But don't. If you do you're a pig fucker.

Really.

Start with S01E02.

I have a long list of bookmarked shows on Netflix that I want to watch, but they aren't 8-11 yr old friendly. I'm on 'vacation' but so are my kids, so I barely get any 'me' time for the TV.

I was hoping maybe this Black Mirror show might be something I could watch with my kids, it being advertised as similar to Twilight Zone.

"Dad, what does fucking a pig mean?"

:x :x :x

Nevermind. Let's watch Nova, or something educational.

"Nova's boring. Can we watch Minecraft videos?"

Such potential!

No, I only fuck Your Mom, not pigs.

Granted the difference and distinction may appear academic. . . .

Managed to watch the first and second episodes.

Both could have been compressed into 15 minutes and gotten the point across. I don't see the need to drag these out for a whole hour. Makes them extra depressing.

The point of both is pretty clear. If the present continues as it does, Black Mirror is our future, which means AC will be providing us with electrical power from his fag cycle and I'll be cleaning the jizz off his walls in a yellow rain coat.

I saw this some time ago. A piratical excursion I think.

Saw the first two, sorta lost interest after that. I thought that it was depressing. Though E02 did strike a chord. It's not the Homesman but it ain't The Interview either. :D

I saw it over the weekend.

It's ok, but I think it's more Outer Limits than Twilight Zone in that Twilight Zone had "happy endings" some times, where's Outer Limits was always a barrel of depressing things.

Personally, I think this program fails at the same thing it tries to "warn" about. It either transports current society in to an alien, technological world with different ethics. Or, makes a world where our ethics and laws would prevent it at inception.

But I agree with Bruce, this show would better if it was like Twilight Zone/Outer Limits and had sever 15 minutes segments.
