Bad timing or just bad taste ...

Postby ed » Fri Nov 10, 2017 5:45 pm

or both?

Going Places is an upcoming American crime comedy film written, directed by, and starring John Turturro, acting as both a remake of the 1974 French film of the same name by Bertrand Blier, and a spin-off to the 1998 cult film The Big Lebowski by the Coen brothers, from which Turturro reprises his role as Jesus Quintana.

Like the original Going Places, it follows a trio of sexually-depraved misfits, played by Turturro, Bobby Cannavale, and Audrey Tautou.

Fine as far as it goes. But the character that Turturro plays ...
As revealed in The Big Lebowski, he is a sex offender who spent six months in a California prison for exposing himself to an eight-year-old.

"An eight year old?"

Not really funny.

I call that if they reference it at all, they will portray it as some bizarre accident.

"And just then, at the worst possible time, this 8-year old walked in the room"

That sort of thing.
"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor. Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a zoo! (Beat) Unless it's a farm!"

Can it be "bad timing" when in fact there is no possible good timing?
