Bull Riding

Postby Rob Lister » Sat Jan 16, 2016 5:43 pm

What a stupid sport. It is kind of interesting in a morbid way but damn those guys are stupid. Even if you 'win' you still have to fall off and get stomped.

Just thought I'd share.

A guy I was in school with years ago said he used to ride bulls. I didn't think much of him. I consider it possible that he might have ridden one bull at some point in his life. But at any rate he said that flat balls were the cost of doing business. Having watched bull riding at Madison Square Garden [of all places] I tend to agree that cup or not, flat balls would truly be a cost.

Honestly, why the fuck would any sane human get on one?

I bet you feel the same.

Bull Riding is what separates the men from the boys, Rob. I think that distinction is why you are clueless about the sport. You probably don't realize that there is a vocabulary, garb, cuisine, travel destinations. There are Heros, Rob. Real American heros who have made their mark riding el bullo.

All the while you were playing monopoly and undressing Barbies.

Time for another avatar, ed.

And I don't mean another rotation of this one.

Just sayin'

Years ago I read an article about what could be deduced from the bones of our stone age ancestors (Magdalenian, if I remember well). The spectrum of sustained injuries had one modern counterpart: rodeo riders.

Now crawl back to your couch…

Regular rodeo riders or bull riders?

Couldn't be bull riders because we wouldn't be here.

Now, Abdul, don't you think that during the rough hunts the smart ones stayed with our great-great-great-great-great-grandmothers?

That's why we now have civilization…

A tribute avatar. That's very sweet, ed. :)

I'd even call it "gay" except you'd be apt to take it the wrong way. :p
