Could this finally be the Cubbies' year?

Postby Anaxagoras » Mon Aug 08, 2016 1:46 am

I do remember reading in the offseason some sportwriters saying they probably had the best team, but I don't put much stock in pre-season predictions. Too often they turn out to be wrong. But right now the Cubs have the best record in baseball with about two-thirds of the season played. Also the highest run differential. There's never any guarantees in the playoffs of course, so in the end it may all be for nought, but it looks like they at least have a good chance this year.

It's the best chance they have since the last year.

I believe this is next year. However there's always next year just in case. I'm not counting my World Series win until jack Brickhouse sings.

They will need a bloody sock. Then need a spell to break the curse, like the steroid spell.

Regardless, I always root for the Cubs, like I did for the Sox .. until they finally won something, then started acting like cunt yankee fans.

Love Arrieta btw, I got to see him come up. It was always there, saw him pitch 4 innings at a time looking like Cy Young, and then the next inning give up 5 runs without getting an out.

The most frustrating thing I have witnessed, that and maybe Ponson pitching 89 pitch shut-outs, then showing up drunk on a 4th of July day game, stumbling on the mound for several runs in the first, needing to be taken out because he was unable to protect himself on the field. So drunk he was a danger.

Why don't you present your oiled-up asshole to the Yankees in the post-game shower?

Mariano Rivera presents David Ortiz with an oil painting of Big Papi standing at home plate at Yankee Stadium and tipping his cap. David Cone and Jacoby Ellsbury give Ortiz a leather-bound book with hand-written letters to him from Yankees players over the years.

Cubs wear football jerseys to their last series, Sweetness is the most worn.

Jerome approves, best running back in the history of football. He was running off 100 yrd games, every game, for shit teams for a decade.
