I vaguely remember a DC comic from the 1960s, very
likely it was Supergirl, that featured female astronauts
as characters.
They were called "astronettes".
Does anybody else here remember this?
Even if not, general comments are welcome.
In the 60s this was plausible if speculative terminology. |

| Sounded neat so I googled "Astronettes". Only real hits are for David Bowie's backup singers. Nothing for comic book characters. One hit was for one of the women that was in the space program early on, they never got to go into space of course and almost no one knows about them. I guess they were called Astronettes. |

Expunged from public memory in the Great Neuralyzation of 1976. |

| Google is still only hitting an obscure Bowie back up band. Have you tried any comic book forums? |

This is the only thing I found regarding Astronettes in the DC Universe.
Of course, the only thing mentioned is the word "astronette".
The comic actually linked to is one of Action Comics. #337, published May 1966.
That's all I could find even containing the word. |

Haha.
Well, that's pretty far back. That's 20 years before Infinite Earths. If you had CDisplay or something I might be able to track down that comic for you. As downloading comics in my free time is a hobby, almost.
Pre-Crisis stuff is nigh impossible to find. |
