Apparently, there's been a study that says Mr. Rogers ruined a whole generation of children because of his "You're special for being who you are" approach. And that whole generation also feels itself monstrously entitled to everything because they're special.
Cause, y'know, it takes balls to go after the ideas of a dead man. |

I cannot stand to watch the two morning mimbos on Fox. They set the bar to a new low for "airhead". Seriously. I couldn't even watch the whole linked video.
ETA: This is a much more worthwhile Fox video to watch. You can hear someone guffaw in the background: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Tv6gFYCsDo |

I did, but at the same time I nearly punched my monitor.
I might have felt better if I punched it, though. |

Anyway, I though it was Doctor Benjamin Spock who ruined the younger generation ... oh wait a minute ... that was my generation.

Fox hates Jesus.
They blame him, too. |

I actually saw Hannity and Colmes arguing over whether Jesus would be a conservative or a liberal once. With Billy Graham's son (Billy Graham III, but goes by his middle name, Franklin) caught in the middle. Graham was smart enough to beg off the issue. |

We had a red Jesus/blue Jesus thing going on here for a little while.
Red state/blue state. Like that. |

That sounds like it'd make an interesting television show.
Someone get on that. |

| If someone asked Jesus whether he was liberal or conservative, I like to think he'd just slap the guy. |

Probably a zip-code sort since it was a low end neighborhood then, but I ended up on a mailing list for 'prayer napkins' (small square of cheap paper with 'holy' matters printed on it) and the obvious request for dough.
I filled the (postage-paid) envelope with probably a four or five ounces of sand and sent it back.
In return came a brochure which has stuck in my mind; the cover showed an attractive black couple opening the front door (with obvious glee) to some white, damn, hippy.
I'da shot him. |

Mr. Rogers told me I was special just because I'm me. I didn't believe him. My skepticism goes way back. |

The lesson I remember most from years of Mr. Rogers... is how good people can do bad things, and vice versa...
It was kind of a sappy show, but it was better than Barney and Teletubbies. |

Mr. Rogers was the greatest man ever. Of course, maybe I have a bias. |

You're the comics maven. Superman Red and Superman Blue, right?
Superman, Spock (the Mister not the Doctor), Jesus ... |

I always though he'd make a good Emperor in the original Star Wars trilogy.

You're the comics maven. Superman Red and Superman Blue, right?
Superman, Spock (the Mister not the Doctor), Jesus ... |
When did I turn into the comics maven?
I just read up on Superman Red/Superman Blue. I figure you're talking about this:
But I actually did know about a "Blue" Superman:
Which was easily one of the most obnoxious things I had noticed. I didn't read a lot on it--not a Superman fan.
Superman rhymes with Cooperman. |

I'm gonna have to read some of the old Superman. I can't call myself a real comic book geek unless I actually know a few things about Coop--uh, Superman. |

As a kid I thought Mr. Rogers was fucking boring. Of course I was an older kid when the show started. I was probably 8 or 9 years old when it first aired.
It needed more violence. |

Jesus has the exact same political leanings as Gandalf, The Count of Monte Cristo and Gilligan, for the exact same reason.
What a silly ass argument, it's like two nerds arguing over who would win in a fight between Picard and Kirk, only more societally acceptable. |
