Как не надо снимать свадьбу

Sweet memories:
Kvas
(Russian fermented rye beverage)

Kvas (квас) is an ancient and beloved beverage from Slavic Europe. While it is basically a low-alcohol beer, it is enjoyed as a soft drink, even by small children. Factory-made versions have been available for some time and many are quite good. But homemade will always be best. Often spelled "kvass."

“Alaska Back to Russia” Petition
http://i0.wp.com/weirdrussia.com/wp-con ... =635%2C431
A petition to secede from the Union and join Russia is circulating in Alaska. It gained 10,000 signatures in a three day period, if it gets 100,000 the White House is obliged to respond.

According to the petition:

“Groups Siberian russians crossed the Isthmus (now the Bering Strait) 16-10 thousand years ago. Russian began to settle on the Arctic coast, Aleuts inhabited the Aleutian Archipelago. First visited Alaska August 21, 1732, members of the team boat St. Gabriel »under the surveyor Gvozdev and assistant navigator I. Fedorov during the expedition Shestakov and DI Pavlutski 1729-1735 years…Vote for secession of Alaska from the United States and joining Russia.”

Why the White House is "obliged" to respond to popular stupidity is beyond me.

Apparently, they have nothing better to do.

White house petitions?

It's a self-imposed "obligation".

They don't have to respond in the affirmative of course.

Their own idea. But, it seems to have been a poor one, as joke petitions or batshit crazy ones seem to outnumber serious ones.

And for that matter, I think they have been too dismissive of even serious ones. I'm not aware of a single one that has led to anything of substance.

I've never been to Russia. I'd like to spend five nights in Moscow. I bet it's really good. Perhaps I might even have a wank there. A memorable one.

I don't where this was taken, but it's funny.

Some good trolling in the comments. One guy writes "Only in Obama's America" and a whole bunch of people respond like it's a serious comment.
