How can we expose more people to critical thinking?

I'd wager two things about schoolteachers (from my experience):
– a lot of them are bored by their subject (or even hate it) and will gladly embrace any different activity/discipline where they have, at best, experience from some hobby;
– they form one of the most credulous social classes (mostly because they "mean well").
