She was precisely that as an incarnation of the Master in Doctor Who a couple of years back - why the name raised an eyebrow.

Somewhat interesting skeptical lecture by a British chap on the subject of YouTube's recommendation algorithm and related topics.
I'm in the middle of watching it. Seems no wonder why crackpot theories and conspiracy theories like Flat Earth or 5G is causing the pandemic are so popular these days. It's not all bad though.

Just under 12 minutes. And there's more on the same channel.

The Victim

That Girl from Trainspoting and No Country for Old Men and That Guy from The Mummy.

Who is the victim?

Sort of based on real events where kids killed a kid and were held anonymously then released, since they were kids, without their names being released. Caused quite a controversy in Ol' Blighty and still does.

In this case, it is Scotland.

What if you think you found "him?"

Done better than I described.

There are only 4 episodes spread out over 9 years, so you're 3/4 of the waay theere

Available on Amazon Prime1.

This is your typical British Detective genre2. Sort of a lower budget Sherlock Holmes. It's not bad. I personally rate it 7.8.

The Suspicions of Mr Whicher: The Murder at Road Hill House
Ep1, 25 Apr. 2011, 6.7 (2,025)
Based on true events. Scotland Yard Detective Inspector Jack Whicher is sent to rural Wiltshire to investigate the horrific murder of a three-year-old boy.

The Suspicions of Mr Whicher: The Murder in Angel Lane
Ep2, 12 May 2013, 7.3 (942)
When Whicher offers to help a country lady find her niece, he's drawn into a disturbing case of murder which brings him up against wealthy and powerful figures and throws him into conflict with his former police colleagues.

The Suspicions of Mr Whicher: Beyond the Pale
Ep3, 7 Sep. 2014, 7.4 (740)
Whicher is hired by a powerful political grandee to investigate violent threats made against his son, who has recently returned from India with his young family.

The Suspicions of Mr Whicher: The Ties That Bind
Ep4, 14 Sep. 2014, 7.6 (649)
A divorce case involving a landowner and his young wife spirals into something darker, drawing Whicher into the heart of the English countryside where he uncovers the most disturbing and destructive of secrets.

1 Some folks might think that Pyrrho should have provided that information. But maybe he figured IMDB would tell us. Maybe he just can't be bothered. Maybe he pirated the series and is ashamed. So don't hate him. I'm guessing laziness but consider that he's also at work.

2 Genre is a funny word. I don't mean 'haha' funny. It's not trying to make us laugh. It's not some kind of clown. It's not here to amuse you. It's just that I can never remember how to spell it because it spelling is just too weird; the actual spelling has just one letter in common with the phonetic spelling. Genre=zhaan·ruh

Jesus Christ, are you a fucking loon that yells non sequiturs at passing cars? WTF does

mean exactly (aside from being a nod to our dyslexic population)?

Is it a warning? Are you starting a bedtime story? WTF are you on about. I am really at the end of my patience.

Explain yourself and be damn quick about it... :x :x :x :x :x :x

I have not yet seen it, but as soon as it becomes available for free, I will. But I find that this:

You needed a 2D flow chart to figure out Seasons 1 and 2. Now you need a 4D flow chart to figure out Season 3.

There is a surprising lack of Noah in Season 3. Wondering if the actor wanted too much money, or maybe they were tired of his story arc?

There never seems to be any break for these poor characters in Season 3. Makes you wonder what these secret society folks do when they aren't stabbing, shooting, betraying, lying to, or explaining deterministic philosophy to their alternate dimensional selves or acquaintances. No, can't trust that misguided person, you must trust ME for salvation....even though my alternate dimensional future counterpart already betrayed you twice.....its the only way to save everyone.....rinse and repeat in almost every episode.

I don't mind it. I'm actually glad they completely dropped the whole high school angst and love triangle bullshit and just stuck with the murder and betrayal. Season 3 is more like Groundhog day, except with 3 different timelines overlapping with 3 alternate dimensions.

I stopped after episode 3. I jsut couldn't relate to it. I was watching with English dubbing and the voice actors sucked. which is always the problem with dubbed movies, old spaghetti westerns withstanding.

CBS's new season of Twilight Zone (season 2) they've really stepped up their game. I found the first season clumsy at best with only one or two really good ones. As an old school TZ fan I'm happy about this.

Fahrenheit 11/9 on Netflix. Worth a look just for the way the media covered the presidential campaign in 2016.

(Yeah, I know, it's Michael Moore, but it's fun to watch. I don't actually believe the narrative he's weaving, but it's an interesting case study of how to weave a narrative. Even Steve Bannon seems to agree.)

The ending of Dark was fucked.
Spoiler:
They spent a great deal of time explaining how the clockmaker made a time machine to prevent his family from being killed in the past, but nope, the universe doesn't work that way. Instead, he inadvertently splits the universe into two dimensions. Each dimension gives birth to a character that should not exist because he is the son of his own aunt, thereby his own grandpa. He goes off on a whirlwind time traveling adventure, trying to prevent the end of the world, but learns that the end of the world is actually the start of the time loop, and he is trapped by fate, stuck in a time loop for all eternity.......but wait.....fuck this, he has a time machine. All he has to do is go back in time and complete the task that the clockmaker failed to do in the first place. He saves the clockmaker's family, but by doing so, the clockmaker doesn't go on to invent the time machine, thus Jonas and his aunt girlfriend vanish from existence.

Wait.....what? Didn't we already learn that the universe doesn't work that way.....multiple times throughout the series in fact? This act should create yet another dimension where Jonas continues to exist and his bastard demon child grows up to inexplicably murder people with his middle aged and old aged selves for no apparent reason.

Maybe in this dimension, they'll fix the demon baby's cleft pallet and get him some therapy.

I like my ending better.

I still watch reruns of that. MeTv I think.

Efrem Zimbalist Jr. What a name.

Scripts so good they've been turned and churned so many times in so many different series the originals almost seem like new writing made to seem old.

Apparently the redistribution is random, so with each role of the dice, you have about a 1 in 3 chance of being totally fucked, which is terrible odds.

Where did they find the child for the 333 floor? How did she survive there at all?

Spoiler:
The placements were not random - at least not for two people because who did Trimagasi say "came down" every month? The woman with the dog followed up on this.

And what was the rumour surrounding that person

And what else "come down" regularly.
.

There is your answer.

Sorry. I was still numb

Actually it is "Ice Twisters" (sounds like a kids dessert)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_Twisters

They seed clouds and create self perpetuating ice tornadoes that threaten Portland or something. Hack Sci fir write figures it out and saves planet.

If you are doing repetitive manual labor it is perfect. Like a chick flick but with dead bodies and cheesy effects.
