UAP and SCIENCE!
Ever since the leaked Navy videos were confirmed as real, and now legislation is being put forth to protect whistleblowers who come forward, UFOs, I mean UAPs are almost OK to talk about.
Maybe.
I was with Monroe up until recently,

But with the staggering number of videos and high level professionals coming forward with credible testimony, I am once more researching these fuckers
Which is fascinating and fucked up at the same time.

Re: UAP and SCIENCE!
Such as?
Sure, in the literal sense there are UFOs. Stuff that's too far away or too poorly focused to identify. Hence, "unidentified".
Doesn't make it aliens.
The US Navy videos have basically all been explained away.
Science. :De_Bunk:

The debunkers want you to think it’s a bird, a balloon, something mundane, because they “know” more than the pilots and people who run the equipment
They actually say the top Navy pilots and people who use the equipment are idiots (it’s a bird)
And of course ignore the reasons the Navy intercepted these objects
That part is hilarious

The plethora of home videos are of course populated with birds, insects, contrails, aircraft and balloons
But not all of the videos can be handwaved away

I just did it again.
Just like with psychic phenomena - if it isn't proven, then it does not have to be accepted.
It is possible? Sure. But until proven, I can wave my hands as energetically as Icarus with bad landing instructions.

There's actually a simple explanation for why the "tic-tac" left the field of view so rapidly. The camera panned to the right. No need to posit crazy speeds.robinson wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 5:36 pm

Yeah, who knows, right? Maybe there's a new top-secret spy plane. Although, we have satellites to do that function now. Not sure there's really any role for spy planes anymore. Too risky, and there's better technology anyway.
What I can see is that whatever those lights are, they are too far away or too poorly focused to identify. I doubt that they are "otherworldly" in origin.

I have my own theories about these things and they make me feel very special. That no-one has come up with an explanation that explains these theories to my satisfaction alone more than indicates their validity.

Waitaminute. With multiplicative bonuses (not including "fair wind" buff) I can actually deal 532% total damage if 2.00*(1.15^7) times crit damage.
So obviously it IS a +2 bow and clearly my mom CAN count.
Asshole.

Re: UAP and SCIENCE!
Turns out the Air Force does have a "secret space plane" called the X-37B that I was unaware of. I have no idea whether it is related to any recent UAP sightings. It looks like a small version of the Space Shuttle.Anaxagoras wrote: ↑Tue Oct 25, 2022 5:14 am Yeah, who knows, right? Maybe there's a new top-secret spy plane. Re: UAP and SCIENCE!
You know the government is taking something seriously when it creates a new department with a 3-letter acronym.
FBI
CIA
NSA
You also know when the conspiracy theorists are taking something seriously
when they describe an unexplained phenomenon with a 3-letter acronym.
UFO
MIB
MIA
But when the government abruptly replaces a well known 3-letter acronym (UFO), with a new 3-letter acronym (UAP) AND creates a new department to investigate......
https://www.intelligence.gov/index.php/ ... assessment
.....now that's some mega serious shit.

If that anonymous Navy dude hadn't leaked those videos, and especially the audio, and the radar videos, of them UFOs fucking with the Navy, nobody would be talking about UAPs

It's the same with the multitudes of witnesses from nuclear sites, which always have been a high sighting/event area. Employees risk tier credibility, their jobs, and report utterly strange shit involving nuclear weapons/reactor/warships, and the response is "they are liars or crazy".robinson wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 5:36 pm The debunkers want you to think it’s a bird, a balloon, something mundane, because they “know” more than the pilots and people who run the equipment

OK, which means you are saying the people in charge of extremely dangerous nuclear shit are crazy.
The real question is, why would anyone listen to the people who have nothing to do with anything, and who also claim all the high ranking people are idiots?
Oh wait, never mind.

I don't know. The plethora of videos (some very high quality) of unexplained shit flying around are pretty fucking awesome.
Except for that "weather balloon", which is just a Chinese spy ship. Which is known to be there. But nobody can get a close up of it. Especially not our Government and military.

Re: UAP and SCIENCE!
They keep saying it's the size of two school buses, which is bullshit. You ain't gonna see no two school bus long object at 60,000 feet. I think they mean the hardware and solar panels are two school buses long. The balloon itself must be fucking huge.
Also, where the fuck are the photos of how it propels itself? The most well known UFO in history, and nobody can get a decent shot of it? And it's hardly fucking moving? Makes you think maybe them small fast UFOs are hard to capture on camera. Even a really really good camera, with a long lens.

Re: UAP and SCIENCE!
Looks like there might be a bunch of electric fans along the arm at right angles to the solar panels. But if so, these are probably mainly for orienting and stabilizing the balloon than direct navigation.
With something as draggy as a spherical balloon, you're not going to push it through the air very fast - even in the thin air up at the altitude it flies, and it only has limited power from its solar panels, which also need to charge batteries during daylight hours. I would guess a few tens of mph maximum. The winds up at those altitudes can blow well over 100mph, so I don't think it could fly fast enough to hold station over the ground, if it found itself in one of those jet streams.
However, given good weather forecasts, it might be able to move itself enough to avoid such fast-moving jet streams - or deliberately fly into one when it wants to travel fast. Jet streams at mid-latitudes tend to blow from the west, so if it wants to get back to China, it's going to have to cross the Atlantic, and fly over Europe and Asia/Russia.
The upward/downward facing fans (if they are fans) would allow it to control its height without releasing ballast or venting helium. Useful because the buoyancy of balloons tends to vary - especially as they heat up and cool down with the day/night cycle.

Re: UAP and SCIENCE!
Interesting that the 'cross beam' isn't visible in the grainy photos. Also, only four solar panels each side, not five. Looks like that decent-resolution Reddit image is either fake, or of some other balloon.

Re: UAP and SCIENCE!
The USA air force waited till it drifted over the Atlantic, and then shot it down using a sidewinder missile* fired from an F22.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-64524105
I would have thought something less destructive than a sidewinder missile would have been better if the USA wanted to retrieve the Chinese tech for analysis. The USA air force probably doesn't have any (non secret) tech that can fly to the height of the balloon and burst it in a less destructive manner. Most (all ?) fighter jets can't fly that high, and most are no longer equipped with guns.
* These missiles cost about $400,000 each. Go USA taxpayers!
