Dark

Post by Anaxagoras »

I'm watching some sort German horror show on Netflix. It seems pretty good, but it reminded me of a couple things.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5753856/

I'm only halfway through the 2nd episode, but I noticed that the Germans have an outsize fear of nuclear power generation.

I distinctly remember that when Japan had a nuclear accident a few years ago, it was Germany that decided to ban nuclear power for good. No other country reacted that way. (A few kooks in the US freaked out). In Japan itself, it made a lot of people want to ban nuclear power, but even Japan seems to be less traumatized by it than Germany. Is Germany prone to major earthquakes or tsunamis like Japan is? Why do they have to ban nuclear power?

Anyway, that's not really relevant to the TV show, which seems to be decent enough. Like there's a scary scene where you see that radiation symbol and it's all very ominous, with scary music and stuff. And while it's too early to say, I get the sense that the nuclear power people might be the bad guys here.

There's no postin' Humanities threads in the Puzzle section!

Every week you get a new show. You put the new show on top of the Humanities section, the top show on the bottom, and the bottom show you promote to irritate Lister.

Any man who promotes the wrong show spends a night in the box!

And then move your brother's clothes to the lower peg.

I'm still liking this show by the way.

Boss I'm sorry for putting dirt in your ditch. I'd take it out again if only I had a shovel. Think you could ask Pyrrho to take it out for me? He has a shovel I think.

Anyway, there's a good scene near the end of episode 3.
