https://www.iflscience.com/health-and-m ... nd-autism/Anti-Vaxxers Fund Study That Finds Zero Link Between Vaccinations And Autism
The overwhelming majority of scientists agree: Vaccinations do not cause autism. Study after study has shown this, and even the original research used to peddle this myth was eventually retracted due to falsified data. But this hasn’t stopped many anti-vaccination groups from still trying to create data that says otherwise, often by commissioning studies that they hope will support their ideologies.
But for one group at least, this method of funding scientific studies to prove their point seems to have backfired. A six-year study looking into the effect that vaccinations have on the neurological development and social behavior of rhesus macaque infants, funded in part by the anti-vaccination and autism advocacy group SafeMinds, concluded that there was no evidence at all for such a link.
That didn’t stop the group from claiming the results didn’t change things. In a statement, they say that they had “concerns about changes in the study design protocol and analysis that may have led to these contradictory results.” The contradiction they are referring to is the fact that they were previously given preliminary results from a smaller trial, which purported to back up their position, before the study was expanded to include more subjects and underwent more rigorous standards that eventually found zero evidence.
Strangely it's as in parapsychology: when "more rigorous standards" are applied, the effect disappears.

Then we have The Pros and Cons of Vaccinating Children:
ProsCons
- Helps out pharmaceutical industry
Get to puncture child with needle
Old family syringe shop depends on it
Habituates children to the pain of existence
Flies in face of science by discrediting single unanimously refuted paper from 10 years ago
Healthier children equals friendlier waiters at Chili’s down the line
Could save a few million children’s lives--J.D.
- You have to go to a place
Chance of developing autism 100 percent
Puts the onus of character-building entirely on sports
Without suffering through diphtheria, the flu, and measles, American children will become effete, pampered do-nothings
Free lollipops promote unhealthy eating habits

Bullies parents into slavishly following actions recommended by decades of physicians’ peer-reviewed research that establishes an irrefutable scientific consensus

Ooooooh boy. I have no idea what kind of rabbit hole I'm entering here, and this may end up being the 1) longest, 2) least read, and 3) most unworthwhile (yes, it's a word) post in the history of blogs. But fuck it, I'm doing it anyway.
If you've landed on this page, one of three things has happened:
- You've been a loyal reader, got an email notification about this post, and you clicked it.
- You searched the internet for "docbastard vaccines" for some stupid reason, or
If it's #3, there is at least a 99.21% chance (I calculated it) that you haven't even read this far. But in case you have, please immediately refer to the number I listed so you can quickly find out why you're wrong here wrong.
- I or (hopefully) someone else referred you here from Twitter because you made some bullshit argument about vaccines.
If that last sentence doesn't make sense, just read on. Everyone else knows it will all come together by the end.

https://www.theguardian.com/society/201 ... ad-to-pets
Sam Kovac can’t say for sure what prompted it, but in the past few weeks the Sydney veterinarian has been faced with the same alarming, beguiling question over and over: “Will this vaccination give my dog autism?”
“It’s actually ridiculous. I mean you hear chatter over the years, but just in these last few weeks it’s really, really ramped up,” he tells Guardian Australia.
“Most of the time people are OK, they’re not staunchly against it once you tell them the science and the statistics [but] we have had people walk out in hysteria, saying that there is absolutely no way their dog is getting [vaccinated] because they believe it causes auto-immune diseases or, specifically, autism.”
Kovac is so perturbed by the trend that he felt moved to speak out about it in Sydney’s Daily Telegraph this week, saying he didn’t believe anti-vaxxers deserved to have animals as pets if they were willing to put them at risk of diseases such as canine parvovirus.
“They are sentencing their dog to death from one of the most shocking, horrible viruses you can imagine,” he says.

–J.D.Israeli flight attendant dies from measles
The 43-year-old woman became unwell on the flight in April. It is unclear where she contracted the disease.
It is the third death from measles in Israel since November, after none there for 15 years, reports say.
The stewardess, who has not been named, suffered brain damage due to complications from the virus and had been in an induced coma, according to media reports.

Do deaths from vaccination outnumber deaths caused by measles?
since 2000, the U.S. has seen 12 recorded measles deaths and 104 deaths reported after the administration of the measles vaccine.
https://ballotpedia.org/Fact_check/Do_d ... by_measles
What the living fuck?
Seriously?According to the CDC there have been only two verifiable deaths from acute measles infection since 2000.
During this same time period, there have been 104 reported cases of death after vaccination for measles.
More to the picture, than meets the eye
Well thank God for that. Stupid numbers, they will lie to your face. However, the numbers do not tell the whole story.

Even if those numbers are true (which I doubt), how many would have died of measles if there were no vaccine?

If a kid is killed in a car accident on the way home from the doctor after getting a vaccine, he died after getting a vaccine, but not because of it.

Re: This Just in . . . Vaccines STILL Do Not Cause Autism
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Measles
A 0.2% risk of death is low, but that's still 2,000 deaths per million infections. Meanwhile, the risk of getting vaccinated is less than 1 per million. So it's at least 2000 times more risky to not vaccinate.
In 1980, 2.6 million people died of it,[7] and in 1990, 545,000 died; by 2014, global vaccination programs had reduced the number of deaths from measles to 73,000.[9][16] Despite these trends, rates of disease and deaths increased from 2017 to 2019 due to a decrease in immunization.[17][18][19] The risk of death among those infected is about 0.2%,[5] but may be up to 10% in people with malnutrition.[7] Most of those who die from the infection are less than five years old.[12] Measles is not known to occur in other animals.[12]
So in just raw numbers, not counting the population increase since 1980, the deaths due to measles were reduced by over 97%.Life-threatening adverse reactions occur in less than one per million vaccinations (<0.0001%).[52]
A 0.2% risk of death is low, but that's still 2,000 deaths per million infections. Meanwhile, the risk of getting vaccinated is less than 1 per million. So it's at least 2000 times more risky to not vaccinate.

Re: This Just in . . . Vaccines STILL Do Not Cause Autism
– J.D.Mumps cases hit decade high in England
Health officials are urging people to have both parts of the MMR vaccine after cases of mumps in England reached their highest level in a decade.
Outbreaks in universities and colleges raised the number of cases of the painful viral illness to 5,042 in 2019 - four times the number in 2018.
Most were in young adults who missed out on the MMR jab.
Public Health England said the full two doses of the vaccination were needed to maximise protection.
The vaccine prevents most cases of mumps - but not all, and so some young people are still getting the illness.
There were also increases in mumps cases in Wales and Scotland in 2019.
["Snip!" – Ed.]
Research by a disgraced UK doctor falsely linking the vaccine to autism undoubtedly had an impact on uptake.
["Snip!" – Ed.]
Before the MMR vaccine, eight out of 10 people developed it and most of them were children of school age. You think?
At that time, there were five deaths a year from mumps, mainly due to encephalitis or swelling of the brain.
The illness then became relatively rare before returning in the 2000s.
There was a particularly large outbreak (43,000 cases) in 2005.

It's the same for some cancers. After all the time and money spent, the experts can't say how some cancer is caused.
