Just to ask...

When you mean "money currently in the pot" you do include any call made by the player intending to raise, right?

Like if there is 2 in the pot, and the bet to me is 1, my max bet is 5. (call of 1 then the pot size bet of 4)

Just checking....

I've always used the "big blind is treated as a raise of the small blind" method... seems most logical.

I must say that starting with 20 chips makes this tough! Each bet is a step closer to the edge.

I hope you mean if the ratio is too big. I'd hate to see the table where a BB equal to 10% of the stake is considered too small.

It's all good.

Yeah, I think it was supposed to be 23: the 13 on the table, plus 5 for each of us. Didn't matter. I give no free cards when I have the nuts.

I'd suggest a no-brainer 24hr amendment that when a player is facing an absurdly small raise and no person would ever reasonably fold that perhaps the default should be a call.

I mean, shemp (I hope) would have never folded to my 3 chip raise there....

I would not have folded. But it's my own stupid fault for forgetting to check in. That and I was sick for several hours, but I could still have gotten to the computer. The way things have been going, you probably would have beaten my QQ anyway.

Put me back in for next hand please.

I sent you my discard as well about 10 minutes ago. Sorry for the delay.

I think it just looks that way. I got your discard at 7:39am or thereabouts. I've noticed when I send hands to players they stay in my Outbox like they haven't been sent, but players are still getting them quickly.

Anyway, I got it, and I'm awaiting swellman.
Thanks for the info. Puts the mind at ease.

If blinds are 2 and 4 wouldn't the max raise be 10 and the max bet 14?

I believe that when the preflop bet got to me, the pot was 10.

I then raised the BB by 6, making the pot 18.

lofgeornost then went all in, a bet less than 18.

I played in a pot limit event at a casino a few weeks ago. They kept getting it wrong. One dealer kept insisting the max bet was 6X the big blind. Others 2X, and so on.

There they "assumed" a call from the small blind so the max preflop bet was 4X. I kept saying the bet was 4x and nobody would listen... kept doing the math every time.

(I am sorry to report that I bubbled.)

In hand 14, doesn't lofgeornost win with a flush in hearts? :flamingevil:

Yes I know, I was just attempting to make punchdrunk's life as dealer a veritable hell.

For a truly realistic effect, someone must ask him the same question on each and every hand of Omaha.

And then argue with him. Each and every hand...

(I've given up trying to play Omaha in home games for this very reason.)

A-ha! My retaliation will be swift and ruthless. I shall reply to PMed hands from you in the other game with 2-page instructions on when to fold, call, or raise that will be harder to read than a undocumented C code. I will then post actions like "Raise?" or "Foll" and make you rule on what the hell I mean. I will post and then quickly edit and delete. I will start posting in Swahili. I may also whine a lot too, but I was planning on doing that anyway.
Don't force me to use the big guns:

Now that's some good smack talkin'!

I have read that crazy pineapple is a lot like Omaha in that it is a drawing game, but I don't know. More like each person represents 3 hold'em hands. Does one keep pairs, or chase straights/flushes? All feel I guess.

Whoa! Action is right.

It's been fun. I think I got my ass kicked in every hand of Omaha I played. I'd better stick to the Hold 'em.

Thanks for running the game, punchdrunk. Good luck to all remaining.

Just got back home from fabulous Las Vegas and have seen the carnage of Hand 17.

Omaha is a brutal game, especially Hand 17. It was a killer.

I had pocket aces, club flush potential, even a straight chance (granted it was up against an ace), and I come in fourth out of four!

No. We chased women instead of flushes. Unfortunately, I was as successful at that as HOP hand 17. I got nuthin...

I now await RCC giving me an old fashioned beatdown in hand 20.
