A cross sum is a number puzzle similar to a crossword. Each box contains exactly one digit from 1 to 9 (no repeating digits in each word). The "clue" is a number, the sum of the corresponding digits. Here's an example:
I've been doing them since I was a kid (46 now). I subscribe to Dell's Math Puzzles & Logic Problems which has 30 Cross Sums in each issue. Great mag, I highly recommend it. :)
