If you enjoyed that, and you have not seen this documentary mini-series (100 Years of Horror), I highly recommend it. Good fun peppered with personal anecdotes by the host, Christopher Lee...and also randomly Hugh Hefner.

More recent CRT displays, and the older monochrome ones, do give off X-rays, but in miniscule amounts. Early colour TVs didn't have a safety circuit on the high voltage shunt regulator, and if that regulator failed, then they could put out a reasonable level of X-rays: best not to sit too close to those.
