I'd say the older he in Yojimbo, et al had no problems, either.
As a TOTAL flaming hetero, I'd potentially nominate James Gardner circa Support your Local Sheriff.

BTW, don't do that with SSDs as I've heard it prematurely kills them.
Just sayin'. :)

Re: Not Suitable for Kitten Pics Thread
Yup, that is true.
At least on . . . a MAC [! – Ed.] . . . the various main and reputable defragmentation programs know not to attempt it on the architecture for the most recent OSes designed for an SSD.
Even then, I am aware of one where its creators were not quite sure a few years ago. After so many years of defragmentation, seeing the wonderful results, there was such a wonderful placebo affect!
So on their user forum, a bunch of Mac Gurus told them, "hey, that only shortens the life-span of an SSD!" and they changed their recommendation, then removed the ability of their program to even try.
Back in the day – uphill, both ways – having a diagnostic program to fix a fuck up was very useful. Oh wait? You did not back-up today? Ha! Fuck you!
With SSD it takes me 45 seconds to back up ~ 550 GB. For the first time, what took a good day to "erase and back-up" on the regular HD, took me, like, less than an hour. By comparison, I still have a nice 1 TB HD that I used as a back-up until I splurged on an SSD as a back-up.
It takes ~ 15 – 20 minutes to "smart" back up to it.
45 seconds on the SSD.
To make things more interesting – being Old School and Paranoid I figured out how to make a bootable clone with the Ex-SSD. Your internal drive dies, what are you going to boot off of?
So one day, something "weird" happened.
Boot off of SSD clone, one minute later "problem solved."
Things change.

I'm awake at 2 am because of a skunk that has released its stench somewhere nearby. At least it's not the furnace...

A shrug of mechanics.
A lot of used car salesmen.
A herd of indie musicians (before they were cool).

"...responsible for biting..." LOL. How about plain English: "...that had bitten..."A red fox that was captured Tuesday and responsible for biting at least one journalist and a lawmaker has been euthanized, according to health officials in Washington, D.C.
In an email to NPR, the DC Department of Health said Wednesday that there were nine confirmed bites by the adult female fox on Capitol Hill and that it had been "humanely euthanized" to ensure rabies testing could be done.
