Re: Looting as legitimate political protest
How do you get from 'tenured prof at Yale' to 'faction of the ruling class that's OK with it'?
Just because a bunch of white guys gave tenure to a black professor at Yale does not mean they agree with everything he says and/or teaches.

I dunno. You seem to think everything bad comes from the top down. I don't think life is so neatly hierarchal Sometimes people do bad shit on their own accord, without some "ruling class" urging them to do so.

But that doesn't mean that every bad bit of human behavior is marching orders from themAbdul Alhazred wrote:Only a faction of the ruling class in this case.Nyarlathotep wrote:I dunno. Or are the trustees of Yale not members of ""some "ruling class""?

Re: Looting as legitimate political protest
That's fucking ridiculous. Looting should never be tolerated, rational people know this to be fact and it doesn't matter where the opposite notion comes from. If Yale and Harvard, then they can go fuck themselves.

You can really have your finger on the pulse of what's going on in America politically by paying attention to what radical professors advocate.

Because his Presidency was an unmistakeable expression of the radical liberal agenda. The near-isolationism, breakdown of corporate holdings, surveillance restraint, reparations, and single payer health care... it's been like Noam Chomsky's wet dreams...

Texas sharpshooters' fallacy, I think...
Yes, occasionally craziness goes viral. That doesn't mean that the craziest things you hear are the most likely to gain traction. You're forgetting the hundreds of other crazy ideas that found no purchase at all.
