YouTube turned me into Neville Chamberlain.

Thanks.

– The Cynical Historian
Watched a review of the more recent Midway film, he mentioned he had to distort FDR's infamous [Stop that. – Ed.] "a day that will live in infamy" speech to Congress after Pearl Harbor because some modern Nazis claimed a kopjiwreicht on the public domain speech.

Seriously.

The teacher, shocked, and not knowing what to do with this horrible response from little Kevin, decides not to acknowledge what he said and simply tries to continue with the lesson.

“And how about you, Sarah?”

Sarah said, “I wanna be Kevin’s hooker.”

This is something I see in many expat English teachers. The whole "Sensei" thing goes to their heads and they mistakenly assume that because people who want to learn English listen to them, they are therefore experts in all things. It also seems to be worse in direct relation to how little Japanese they speak. This guy, for example, probably knew ten words of Japanese despite living in Japan for just as many years.

An academical education has given you an unlimited command over the most beautiful figures of speech. Masks, hatchets, racks, and vipers, dance through your letters in all the mazes of metaphorical confusion. These are the gloomy companions of a disturbed imagination; the melancholy madness of poetry, without the inspiration.
