I look around and oddly enough the place is practically empty. It's 8PM I thought all the regular tickets were sold out? We counted maybe 20-25 people in the showing and there couldn't have been more than 20 more people in the gallery part. The bar was unfortunately closed.
So whatever. The show starts it's pretty cool just basically a slide show with music of Vans paintings for 30 minutes. Alright shows over lets walk around. We walk out to a closed bar, two little art galleries of local artists and a massive area of "retail" goods, which is really just Chinese shit for absolutely ludicrous prices. $45 for a paper record sleeve, $50 for a water bottle, $75 for a crappy Chinese scarf. Insane prices.
We walk beyond that and there's two little art exhibits you can "interact" with the "Interact" being sit in a paint can and take a picture, as well as a little side hall that has a few paragraphs about Vans life.
So that's it? We spent $150 on a 30 minute power point presentation and a Chinese retail shop? Absolutely ludicrous. Even if we had purchased the $55 dollar tickets which would have been $60 it still would have been a rip.

Yes that is the original photo used. It's an older piece I created in like 2018 and I thought I was able to use the original image in a collage. Don't get your panties in a bunch
Yeah...taking someone else's work and reassembling it into a "collage" is an old game. IMHO this one isn't sufficiently "derivative" to escape t3h kyoppenrigget violation. Especially when all you've done is bad digital photo editing.
